Origin of the tribe of Manasseh:
Pharaoh gave Joseph the name Zaphenath-Paneah and gave him Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On, to be his wife. Genesis 41:45

Before the years of famine came, two sons were born to Joseph by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On. 51 Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh and said, "It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father's household." 52 The second son he named Ephraim and said, "It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering." Genesis 41:50

1 Some time later Joseph was told, "Your father is ill." So he took his two sons Manasseh and Ephraim along with him. 2 When Jacob was told, "Your son Joseph has come to you," Israel rallied his strength and sat up on the bed.

(Jacob said) 5 "Now then, your two sons born to you in Egypt before I came to you here will be reckoned as mine; Ephraim and Manasseh will be mine, just as Reuben and Simeon are mine. Genesis 48

(IsraelNN.com) The Jewish Agency, headed by Ze'ev Bielski, will oversee the community's arrival in the Jewish state, as well as various aspects of its absorption in the country. The newcomers are moving into absorption centers in the northern Israeli towns of Karmiel and Upper Nazareth. The youngest of the Bnei Menashe immigrants who arrived Tuesday was a two-week-old infant, while the oldest was an 84-year-old grandmother.

An excerpt:
Challianthanga's vision
According to the Bnei Menashe, in 1951, a Pentecostalist called Challianthanga or Mela Chala (the name varies) from Buallawn village dreamt that God instructed him to direct his people to return to their pre-Christian religion, which he determined to be Judaism, and to return to their original homeland, Israel. The Bnei Menashe believe that Challianthanga/MC and several followers set out on foot through the hilly jungles of North East India towards Israel but had to give up due to the sheer distance and terrain.

Despite this setback, the number of believers rose steadily (estimated to have risen by 50% in recent years) and their claims gained wider credence in the 1980s when a self-taught researcher, Zaithanchhungi, purported to have discovered similarities between their ancient animist rituals and those of Biblical Judaism, such as sacrifices.

I am struck in many of these pictures and video reports how most of the women and girls have very similar facial features. Are we seeing the face of Joseph's wife Asenath echoed through the centuries in the faces of her descendants?

Why is Manasseh the first of the 10 tribes to be rediscovered and to begin Aliyah?

Because Joseph was the firstborn son of the loved wife and the son of double portion--birthright and blessing, Joseph was a prince among his brothers, and Manasseh was his firstborn son.
Josesph was honored over his brothers, just as the dreams from God foretold.

Manasseh's name means, "God has caused me to forget".
In another of God's great ironic gestures of love--he shows that now he is remembering his loved, chosen people.
Judaism's replacement theology and identity theft condemned

Don't be fooled! INDIAN converts to the religion of Judaism are not the ethnic Tribe of Menashe. They don't bear a single biblical birthmark of fulfilled prophecy concerning Joseph! They are not Joes.
