You got it. May you sense the Lord's presence right now Rev 320 for He is there with you. Reach out to Him for He said He'd never leave us nor forsake us.
Ps 46:1-5
1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Selah
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. (NIV)
The Lord bless you and keep you!

I'm going through a lot of depression. I need to find a new career. I messed up my back pretty good. I was stuck in my walk with God, and out of rebellious frustration with everything I let a certain sin get a foothold in my life again. I don't like feeling far from God. I guess I need a trip to the woodshed and then comfort and healing in my Father's arms. But even though I know He's reaching down toward me, I just can't seem to reach up to Him. I can't shake this feeling that God had a plan for me, but that I've totally missed it.

Okay not that the pity party is over...
You are not lost..you are found by the Lord Jesus
We all get hurt(psychologically/physically) you give that to Jesus in prayer..I know easier said than done but if you do it on a daily basis the hurt will vanish...I speak from experience.. I'm going through a time of trial now but my Lord Jesus walking through it with me.
Stop listening to the adversary he loves to tell you all the things that make you question and second guess yourself
Here are the facts....
1) You're a champion
2) You're a warrior
3) You're a Son of the Most High God
4) You're part of the Priesthood of Christ
5) You have an advocate with the Father...use him
6) You're an overcomer
IF GOD BE FOR YOU WHO CAN BE AGAINST YOU?
When the adversary leaves you alone then worry because he only goes after those who are invading his territory and you my brother are definitly invading his dominions.
I will pray for you...keep up the fight rebuke the discouragement and any other feelings that are not of God and continue the fight we don't want to lose a WARRIOR OF YOU CALIBER!!

Thank you for your prayers. I'm feeling a thousand times better.
God is great! When we have to go through dark valleys, He walks with us and provides light for the way. When we stray into the thicket, He finds us and puts us back on the path. He is my shield, my glory, and the lifter of my head!

you need confession and penance to get rid those mind worms. make peace with god and stop watching him.
you cant take heaven by force of faith. faith wont do it alone. i know all the samsons say it does but it wont. you get grace thru prayer and obedience and sacrifice and the grace will do it.
finding jesus wont break your bad habits overnight. work the faith, be persistent and NEVER dispair. if you fall, pick the cross up and keep going. at times there may be someone to help you carry it and remember....."he that persevereth to the very end is saved".
he that perseveres to the end, cannot fail ever. the flesh fails but the persevering spirit doesnt.
make simple sacrifices:
pick a day in the week and tell yourself that on that day you will eat only bread and butter and drink only water (24 hrs). then ASK god if he will accept for the remmission of sin and then see what comes to mind.
go out of your way to do something nice to a person that offended you and ask god the same, ya know, if he will accept.
work the faith and confess (item by item, dont say "you know my sins lord"), and dont make excuses (righteousness). he might not accept if you only want to buy. so make sure that you confess and commit to a life of perseverence. it a light yoke but if you have a lot of debts, you have to try catch them all up.
i did three rosaries a day for 90 days to get myself cleaned up. mary accepted. i threw away all the pills and psychiatrists and didnt see them for 30 years. they sent me to psychologist last year and he said i didnt need psychaitrist anymore.
if your bothered with the worms, you are in a kind of purgatory. it will help you if you let it. in there you gonna see a tiny sliver of hope and god put it there for your survival. dont let go of it and remember the fire is made for benevolent purpose. it cleanses. you may not have the fire breathing type worms, i dont know but if u do, know that there is no water below the firmament that can quench it. when the debt is taken by the fire, it will burn itself out and you will be cleansed by fire. sin is the fuel.
i know im posting like mary but the one who cant understand this dont need it. if you cant understand mary, dont worry, her message not for you.

We don't see eye to eye on a lot of issues regarding religion. I would even disagree with you on your advice. But I do appreciate that you reached out to me in your post. Thank you. I've said before that this Jews for Jesus forum feels like a family to me. And while we don't always agree with the things that members of our family say and do, we do always love them. Your post exemplifies that concept. Even though I can't accept your advice, I will accept the intention of your heart and the love you showed, and I will return it. Thank you again for your post. It means a lot to me that you responded to my need.
Your friend,
Todd
By the way, "mind worms" is the perfect description. It is poetic and accurate.

Todd,
sometimes when we pray the heavens are like brass and we think that God isn't listening but Matthew tells us to fight and be violent in our prayers.
Don't give up even when it seems like you are all alone. Remember Jesus on the cross was in the centre of God's will even when He asked
"Why have you forsaken me".
Mat 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Rev320 (Todd)
You once again shed good light on the truth of G-d's word, esp. Psalm 91. I do care what you think. I tend to go to the other extreme, to pretend I don't need friendship and prayer, and bottle up my hurt which in turn proves unfruitful. And to hurt is fruit of the spirit - the longsuffering of Christ. There is a fellowship of His suffering, for truly our fellowship is with Him.
The Lord Jesus will never leave you nor for sake you. You don't need great faith, just faith in a great G-d.
