Whether or not I'd bee the washer or the washie would depend on why I might be doing that service. I have attended congregations where foot washing was as common as public displays of affection.
I am not exactly sure what God meant when He washed those first twelve disciples of His Church other than as The Messiah He did not want them as Hebrew and religious Jewish practicioners to miss a single picture of what He was and had been saying to them and their fathers through the ages to that time and place and season.
There is something however very humbling and privately intense when you set down yourself to care for the needs of another persons feet. In a weird sort of way it is a sort of intamacy with the persons soul and not just their soles.
Frankly, I'd rather not my feet get dirty or have holes in my shoes and socks either, but likely it is bound to happen so if someone would touch my feet then they could possibly find out alot more about me than I might want them to know - ha,ha,ha!!! Thank Adonai Yeshua He does not stop or start with my feet - weak ankles, corns and alll.

My feet have bunions, are old, and wrinkled! The love of Yeshua is the only way someone could wash my old stinky feet!! However Yeshua did more then that he shed His blood for me, being the perfect Lamb without spot or blemish. I would let Him wash my feet because He will give me new and young feet someday so I can jump and praise His name!
Under the blood of Yeshua,
Paula

My first home church was a Grace Brethren Church which celebrated a three-fold communion which included the washing of feet. We would separate men from women and then proceed to go around the table washing the feet of our brother to our right while singing hymns and enjoying the fellowship of believers. It is a very real demonstration of the example of our Lord in serving others.

John 13
8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Did you hear the story about the right leg brethren and the left leg brethren? Undecided between calvinist doctrine and armenian doctrine the calvinist washed the feet of the left leg brethren and the armenians washed the feet of the right leg brethren; then they were all were baptized to figure out whose doctrine was right.

I was a nurse for 40 years, and my duties involved washing many body parts as well as feet. Whenever I had to wash someone's feet, I would remind the person that it was counted a privilege and a duty by Jesus. We sure had laughs and fun times together, it was a wonderful way of sharing the love of Jesus.
