I have a question for my fellow Jewish believers here.
I know that many Christian Gentiles believe that Kabbalah and Gematria are occultic.
However....I have several Jewish friends who are Orthodox and a few Jewish fellow Christians who do not think it is.
It was explained to me that there are some aspects of Gematria that are occultic...but then some are not.
Can I get your thoughts on the matter?
Do you think its dangerous for anyone to follow Gematria when it pertains to scripture?
There is some phenominon going on about people seeing the number 11:11.
I don't want funny jokes about this as its very real. I started seeing this number also earlier this summer. Its usually on my computer clock or I see multiples of the number.
I don't know what is going on...but perhaps a large scale deception?
Your thoughts on Gematria would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I'm disappointed. I was hoping to get more peoples views on this.
I shouldn't be surprised as I doubt not too many would want to step up to the plate and say how they really feel.
God bless.

Happy,
I view Gematria as a parallel universe of synonyms and keys to understanding. Math can be this kind of language in understanding computers and science. Strangely enough, there is also a learning aid, using numbers, to assist those who follow Hebrew. This is Gematria.
Numbers are used to help bridge the gap of explanation, and numeric equivalent words must be used by someone who is skilled / gifted in interpretation to adapt the lesson to be learned.
It, in some ways, can open up more information than a Polyglot having Ethiopic, Arabic, Syriac, Latin, and French translations of the same text. Though Ethiopic can have 7 variations a letter (making their 30 letters as precise in meaning as if they were 210 letters), sometimes when there is a block on going further in viewing what is in a word or verse by language...Gematria opens up another language of understanding. It is Math, it is Prophecy, and it is some kind of conglomeration I just can't put into words.
But the key to Gematria is still that which is fulfilling Scripture -- Revelation 19:10c. If you analyze -- using this passage for all Hebraic Gematria from Scripture -- like actual Scripture, being a testimony of Jesus...you find yourself quickly overtaking and leaving behind many lifetime devoted rabbis in understanding and insight.
A good way to start is to practice by numbering every word in your Strong's Concordance according to its value, to get you used to reading after this new format. Hope this helps. Shalom.

I personaly don't deal with gamatria at all and don't hold much
of an opinion on it. It can be interesting, and it's use can
make one think and look at Torah in new ways. But I don't
consider it "occult" nor do I consider a valid way of studying...
Thank you both.
I should have also called this...Questions about Kabbalah and Gematria.
I have some scriptures to share that I'll post later.
God bless.
Kabbalah is simply a form of Jewish Gnosticism, and is based upon a translation of "receiving" or "to receive".
But the idiocy of this Kabbalism is likened to those who devil worship, where one (in Kabbalistic practice) draws a Pentagram on the floor of a room, and through religious invocations/incantations sacred within Judaism, witchcraft is performed in the Name of "receiving" or "Kabbalism". This is a modern day blending of Judaism and Baal (Satanic) worship...i.e., blasphemous idolatry.
The use of Gematria goes back to at least the captivity in Babylonia.
It is separate and apart from this schism, and often contradicts the socio-psychopolitics of Kabbalistic "spiritualities of the soul".
Kabbalah may also be quite old, but it is ever changing and incorporating alien ideas and concepts, moving it ever further away from even "mimicking" religious Judaism.
Gematria, though claimed by Kabbalists, may be as alien to these euruchoros minded dimwits (in its true sense), as the Gospel of Luke was to the Gnostics, or even to Marcion: who, in the 2nd Century A.D., claimed authority over Luke's gospel; and snipped out what he disliked, and taught what he abridged or even reinterpreted against what the Gospel writer clearly wrote or said. Pretty soon Marcion had a scroll that looked like swiss cheese, and claimed authority to now fill in the blanks with all sorts of abominable things. Kabbalah is of this same filthy cloth...but Gematria is not.
I agree with you completely.
I've been doing my own little study on the subject and I have not been able to come to the conclusion that its okay.
Now Gematria...I am still out on that one.
I think there is meaning in numbers. It seems obvious to me. But there are some that seem to cross the line and it starts to become something that they seek meaning for in everything.
Or in otherwords...it turns into occultic practice.
I think perhaps it might be best to just leave it all alone.
But then....some will not listen.
By the way.....I have a question. Does everyones posts have to get approved first all the time before it shows up? It frustrating and I would post here more if the posts were immediate.

Privilleged Members usually have a quicker approval and posting rate.

I wonder how long that takes....
