[font=Times New Roman][size=medium][color=green] I was raised in a Christian home where God was honored but services were seldom attended. My parents always talked about the importance of God, but didn't show it much. My mother's mother, however, was a confirmed Christian. She would read to me before I would go to sleep and would always read stories from the Bible. I knew about Joseph, Samson, Jacob, Abraham, Noah, and Jesus at a very early age. I lived pretty much like everyone else though since I had no other information. When I got to college, I found I needed more help than I needed in high school. One day as I was talking by the college post office, I noticed a poster advertising a "free" folk music concert. Since I had little money and loved folk music, I decided to attend. I first looked closely at the poster to see who was sponsoring the concert. It took a while, but I found the name in small print at the bottom. The name was Campus Crusade for Christ. I figured that was OK from my previous knowledge from home. The concert was great, but I got much more! At last, I got the information I needed to accept Y'shua as Lord and Savior. I prayed to receive Him that night and my life took-off. I met other Campus Crusaders on campus and started to attend meetings. I grew spiritually very quickly and that summer, I went to Newark, New Jersey to evangelize. What an experience! I have walked with God for over thirty years and find my time spent with Him to be exciting all the time. He loves us so much and He asks so little. Why not accept Him? You will NEVER regret it!
That is an awesome testimony! Isn't He (Y'shua) just beautiful?
That was a geat testimony
I believe in Yeshua because he's the fulfillment of the prophecies in the Tanach and because the basis for Western Civilization was created when St. Thomas Aquinas fused Aristotle's humanistic philosophies with the teaching of Yeshua. I'm Jewish by birth and the Jewish people had been trying to raise up a leader who could teach the world about spirituality and G-d based on the Tanach but we couldn't spread monotheism until Yeshua started to teach.
Because you want to.
I don´t believe that we are ready to receive the Massiach, that's why, in my opinion Jesus was not it. But nothing is really important. God will have mercy. The rest? The new religions, philosofies etc are just diff point of views. New Age Music at the end!
You can choose your way. But listen, nobody, even the most famous rabbi has the answers to all questions! Actually nobody has it. Jesus was what? Another Rabbi! Another one.. Like Moses, and the others. Only an ordinary Rabbi. He ever told anything different ! Am I wrong? However, make a little reasearch about BABASALI. Or Moshe Ben Maimon, surelly you will understand what I mean.
God Bless u all!
I believe Jesus is the Messiah because God's Word says He is and because He said He is. Jesus asked the twelve, "Who do men say that I am." They said "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets." And Jesus said "and what about you - who do you say I am?" Simon Peter said "You are the Christ (Messiah), the Son of the Living God." Jesus replied "Blessed are you Simon, son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in Heaven... Then He warned His disciples not to tell anyone that He was the Christ (Messiah)." And so it has been revealed to me, too, not by man but by God, the Spirit of Truth. Read the bible, old and new testament and believe what's written. Don't deny the truth.
Tohlwa:
Great testimony.. tell us more.. who, where, how...! I wanna have more of what you've got
Marcelo:
You state the obvious. We were NOT ready to receive the Messiah..not now and not then. That is a plain fact. Even Jesus knew it. However, God was ready and that's what matters.
Our not-readiness is excatly why we need salvation. We are loosers and sinners the whole bunch of us.. I mean look around you. You are right to say no one seems to say anything new.
I tell you why I believe in Jesus however. Because He really does make all things new. If the Holy Spirit comes upon you you will know.. I know a man who used to wear a leather jacket. He even stood naked in the middle of the street in order to provoke his surroundings and tell them all that he didnt give a ... He was in a lot of trouble. One night however, this smart guy walked into a Christian meeting (they all looked pretty boring, these uptight Christians in this gathering, so he told me) but during the meeting he was touched powerfully by the Holy Spirit. He ended up sitting in front of the crowd, in his cool leather jacket, whining like a baby, accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour. After that, he said, the world didn't change, but his view changed. He would walk in the fields and he would swear the sheep were smiling at him. (Sorry BS - its too good to be kept a secret).
I think bottomline you cannot expect everything to be totally clear in front of your human eyes.. These things happen in the Spirit, and when you try it yourself you will know that the Spirit transforms your own world. We need that; to have the salvation and peace and love for our selves before we can pass it on. Jesus had it and He did transform the world.. if you say He didn't then it is because you refuse to see.
Anyway. For me the point of persuation is the Love. Nothing can compare to the Love of Jesus.. no other teacher who claimed divine mandate on him self, throughout history, can prove such an awesome Love. And I really think this is the most important thing. Love is, when it comes down to it, the one thing people thirst for. And Jesus is the living water that can quench this thirst. Why look at the universe out side when you have a whole universe inside as well.. see if not this universe comes from chaos into calm when you ask Jesus to reveal His love to you. It's personal though.. Do you dare?
Because you want to.

There is nobody like Y'shua. He was not just a Rabbi. I know of no one that ever said he only speaks and does what his Father God tells him to say. Y'shua said that He did not speak or do anything of His own initiative. He said that the one who speaks of his own initiative glorifies himself. He said another will come speaking in his own name and the people will blindly follow. He is the one that spoke of the blind leading the blind. He said they will both fall into the pit.
Yes, I do believe you are wrong. Y'shua spoke of perfection. He spoke of love of God and keeping His commandments. He spoke of His own death well before anyone understood what was happening. He explained how He is our Passover. He spoke of His resurrection after three days.
The only other example of the world becoming monotheistic would be when Egypt changed from believing many gods to belief in only one God...about the time when God delivered Israel from their hand. It was for a relatively short time but it happened. That is a real sign that Y'shua is the one that Moses told us about. God said Messiah would be like Moses.
People the world over believe that Y'shua is the Christ/Messiah. People the world over believe in the God of Israel because of Y'shua the light to lighten nations well and the glory of God's people Israel. The testimony is there.
Shalom!
Hi;
I believe in Messiah, because of sin. I mean the bible is page after page of sin accounts...but it is also up to God to remove the penalty, the price of sin.
when I read the bible, I find examples like with Saul/Paul...it is not spoken, but do you think the families of Saul's victims were in the bible studies held by Paul?
like divorce....marriage is not of men....like divorce is.
like progress...creation is not of men ....like progress is.
But sin. Sin separates us from God. That is the thing. The rub, or the whole of it. We truly believe there is no God, no need for God and no hope of the promises of God, when we are in sin.
so I believe in Messiah, because I have seen the promises of God from a far off.
I know that without a true substitution for my sin..there is not a way to dwell in the promises of God.
In my sin, I can imagine, I can manufacture, I can find others to do the work of caretaker for my genius...but then I die....end game.
what was meant to be instead of sin in me?
.....life
Jesus fulfilled this role in the Gospel's accounts.... many witnesses, many situational representations, and all of whom were given the choice of life or death if they recant their testimony...
I know myself as a big coward, and the least bit of torture I would give up ....just to live as a liar.
but in my experience since I accepted the need for my redemption, confessed my sin, and pleaded with God to forgive me, and help me...I have not lied about anything that has happened in relation to Him.
even the weirdest stuff, maybe ..I cannot say...but I am not lying and will proclaim He has done great things in my life, showing me what should be...what is going to be ...between Creator and Creation, me. He is love, and He is not a cruel LORD.
And I know the way choices go, I have freedom and choice.
I love the scripture that says....'as for me and my house we will serve the LORD'...and the one that says...'you have a choice, choose sin and death, or choose the LORD and life...as for me, I choose life'.
Gee, gee-whiz....even being evil, you fathers know how to give good gifts to your children...God gave the best gift of all, to his children while they were still in their errors/sins:
Romans 3:25 For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us. God was being entirely fair and just when he did not punish those who sinned in former times.
I believe in Yeshua, because He has been the only father I have come to know, and because He has never changed the way he raises His children.
bye for now,
kimberly
