The prime reason for this post is to very respectfully ask some knowledgeable Jew for a little information please.

The Gospel of Mattew states, "Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him." (Matthew 3:13 KJV0

I became quite excited a few days ago when my eyes were opened and it was revelaved to me why Jesus went to the River Jordan to be baptised. I actually asked around our Church if anyone understood the awesome biblical ssymbollic significance for the reason Jesus (and indeed the John the Baptist himself) deliberately choice the Jordan as the place for baptism; no one had a clue!

I have decided to prepare a study paper entitled, "The symbolism of Jesus' Baptism in the Jordan Waters'" and I need to know how far Jesus may have walked to travel "....from Galilee to Jordan unto John...".  Can one of you kind people help me please?

I don't know how far the walk was; and (as far as I know) I'm not Jewish (even though my last name was originally Polish-Yiddish); but I think I know what you're getting at: The Israelis crossed the Jordan, and the same river that they crossed was used for the baptisms that John performed.
well the way one can think about it is this way.

In a war the leader is usually on field first.

jesus is leader of us  he step on the feild first (baptism) he then commands others to baptism others.

Jesus taken the first step onto the field and now it time for us to follow through! amen?
