From Jesus came the question, and from Peter alone came the Infallible answer. Peters' teaching Authority is Infallible.

Really? Even after (according to you) the "" Who do you say I am ? " statement by Jesus, this 'infallible first pope" (according to you) denied Jesus - not once - not twice -  but three times! (Mark 14:66-72).

I think you need to eiither read your Bible fully in context and come back again or re-define the word 'infallible'.

Infallible does not mean impeccable. So even though Peter was a sinner, he still had Infallible direct guidence from God the Father, to declare the Truth on questions of Faith and Morals for the whole Church.

The question on Faith at the time was " Who do you say I am ?"

Then God the Father reveals only to Peter, Jesus' True identity, and he communicated this to all mankind, in the Churchs first Infallible Apostolic Statement of Faith.

So God the Father will be faithful and reveal to Peter "Rock" the life giving Truth.
Just as God gave life giving waters out of the Rock to the Israelites, God establishes "Kepha" Peter Rock, as the source of life giving Truth, which flows directly from God the Father.

Jesus set this Rock in place, and the gates of will never prevail against it.

"Blessed are “you” Simon, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to “you,” and I tell “you,” “you” are Kepha, and on this Kepha I will build my Church. I will give “you” the keys to the kingdom, and whatever “you” bind and loose on earth will be bound and loosed in heaven."

The handing over of the Keys of Christs Kingdom is the handing over over Authority.

"…I think it my duty to consult the Chair of Peter, and to turn to a church whose faith has been praised by Paul…The fruitful soil of Rome, when it receives the pure seed of the Lord, bears fruit an hundredfold…My words are spoken to the successor of the fisherman, to the disciple of the cross. As I follow no leader save Christ, so I communicate with none but your blessedness, that is with the Chair of Peter. For this, I know, is the Rock on which the church is built! This is the house where alone the paschal lamb can be rightly eaten. This is the ark of Noah, and he who is not found in it shall perish when the flood prevails.” Jerome, To Pope Damasus, Epistle 15:1-2 (A.D. 375).

Now you are being silly. We all know what 'infallible' means. Peter denied Christ three times and was therefore fallible.

[quote]So even though Peter was a sinner, he still had Infallible direct guidence from God the Father, to declare the Truth on questions of Faith and Morals for the whole Church
. So does every Christian - the guidance every born-again believer receives from the Holy Spirit is infallible - othewise your suggeing Holy Spirit Guidance can be fallible.

Your talking riddles -  Peter played the hypocrite - Galatians 2:11-13
         a. He had come to Antioch (some think this was during Acts 15:1;
            others think it was later)
         b. At first he ate with the Gentiles
         c. After certain men came from James, Peter withdrew and
            separated himself
         d. He feared those of the circumcision
         e. His actions encouraged other Jews to be hypocrites, even
            Barnabas
      2. Paul confronted Peter - Galatians 2:11,14-19
         a. He withstood Peter to his face, because he was to be blamed
         b. He rebuked Peter before them all, showing him to be
            inconsistent

No! Peters actions and teaching in these incidents were far from the infallibilty of papist doctrine.

DavidJ
Tertullian, The Demurrer Against the Heretics 23, 10 (c 200 AD) “Moreover, if Peter was reproached [by Paul] because, after having lived with the gentiles, he later separated himself from their company out of respect for persons, the fault certainly was one of procedure and not of doctrine.”

Paul didn't rebuke Peter on a matter of doctrine ( Which is an area of Infallibility), he rebuked Peter on a matter of bad example, after the teaching had been made. But Peters example is not binding as Infallible on members of the Church.

God revealed to him alone the vision of a scoll rolled out from heaven, about unclean animals. This was regarding the Gentiles inclusion.
Just as God revealed to Peter alone who Jesus was.

Peter taught the Infallible truth, however it doesn't mean that he wouldn't hack your ear off with a sword. Peter was still a sinner, but God had guaranteed that he would not teach error.

" What you bind on earth, shall be bound in Heaven ". Heaven can't ratify error, so it means that what Peter binds on earth is always Infallible with direct guidance of God.

Of course is was doctrine - the doctrine of Jews not mixing with Gentiles!

Quote:
Peter taught the Infallible truth

So did the other apostles equally teach Gods Word as infallible truth! Peter even cited Paul's letters as Scripture (2 Peter 3:15,16), but Paul never cited Peter's letters as Scripture.

You really do need to get your Bible quotes into biblical context! There is absolutely no scriptural reason wjuapostles need teaching guidance from Peter a Pope if they were guided directly by the Spirit as Jesus directed they would be. Paul expressly stated that his teaching was not based on anything learned from man but on direct revelation from Jesus - Galatians 1:11,12,16,17; 2:6-9,11-14.

What are the actions of a hypocrite.

Someone declares one thing, then does another thing.

Well thats what Peter did, taught ( infallibly ) one thing, yet personally did another thing.

Paul rebuked Peter on hypocritical personal behavior, after the infallible teaching had been declared regarding gentiles.

Really? So papist doctrine has defined Peter 'An infallible hypocrite'.

Isn't that a fairly good description of the Pharasees?

Wow! I have heard everything now!

He also cut someones ear off, and denied that he knew Jesus on three occasions. No one is perfect.

Jesus did warn that there would be scandals in the Church. That sure fits Peters behavior, on some occasions.
[quote]Really? So papist doctrine has defined Peter 'An infallible hypocrite'."

Well is also in the Scripture this hypocritical behavior, regarding the gentiles.

Yet its not an excuse ignore Apostolic authority, he still teaches the Truth. " He who listens to you, listens to Me ". Not " he who behaves like you, behaves like me ".

Peters behavior wasn't always the best, by Scriptures accounts. But we are sinners also.
Now we appear to have established the ridiculous notion of 'papal infallible hypocracy' this goes a long way in confirming that the lives of Peter and of the Popes make them entirely unfit to be the foundation of Jesus' church.

Just to recap some great sins in the life of Peter.

* Immediately after talking about the foundation of the church, Christ rebuked Peter saying: "Get behind me, satan, thou art a scandal to me; for thou dost not mind the things of God, but those of men" (Matthew 16:21-23).

* Peter denied Jesus 3 times, even with curses and swearing (Matthew 26:69-75).

* Jesus rebuked Peter's lack of faith (Matthew 14:22-31).

* Peter was hypocritical and disobeyed the gospel (Galatians 2:11ff).

Now consider sins in the lives of Catholic Popes.

The following facts have been gleaned from the Catholic Dictionary and the Catholic Encyclopedia (at www.newadvent.org/cathen/).

* At least 4 Popes are admitted to have had illegitimate children.

* At least 5 Popes were sons of priests, including at least one (maybe two) Popes who were sons of other Popes! (Some of these priests may have been married but left their families to become priests.)

* At least 6 Popes were excommunicated or condemned as heretics, including one Pope who was excommunicated twice and two Popes who excommunicated one another!

"In the first twelve centuries of her existence the Church was disturbed some twenty-five times by rival claimants of the Papacy. The strife thus originated was always an occasion of scandal, sometimes of violence and bloodshed ... For forty years (in the 14th century) two and even three pretenders to the Papacy claimed the allegiance of Catholics: whole countries, learned men and canonised saints, ranged themselves on different sides, and even now it is not perhaps absolutely certain who was Pope..." (Catholic Dictionary, Addis & Arnold, p. 869).
Who can believe that Christ's church is founded on an office occupied by such men as these? Imagine Jesus' church supposedly going through long periods of time in which nobody really knows who was the real head of the church! How much better to accept the plain Bible teaching that the church is founded on the sinless, Divine Son of God!

Yes, I can just begin to understand the papist doctrine of 'papal infallible hypocracy'
