Who can be a spiritual leader? Is the president of the United States a spiritual leader?
Amos 3:3 says two can't walk unless they be in agreement.
First, a spiritual leader should not be without natural affection (Romans 1:30). The word is found only one time in the messianic writtings and means a mother bears love. Someone who would kill thier own child or not take care of their familly is disqualified as a spiritual leader (1 Timothy 5:8). How does this apply to people who think elective abortions should be legal?
Second, a spiritual leader must believe in one God and not be idolotrous. Some religiuous groups have as many God's as the hindus but are not always up front about this. They try to portray them selves as Christian or another church of Jesus Christ. In the end times people probably won't be fooled by the elephant god, but they will by self improvement or new age cult leaders who actually believe man is a god. You will never see an African American join some of these groups because they have raceisst overtones. So if you feel uncomfortable with a guru as president you should feel even more uncomfortable with gurus in sheeps clothing.
