Forgive me if this is anti-Semitic and/or offensive; but I figured that since some people think of Jewishness as being matrilineal, you all might appreciate this joke that I wrote.

My friend is a chemist; and when he talks about chemistry, I get bored to the point of zoning out with glazed eyes and drooling. My chemist friend gets bored in the same way when our historian friend talks about history. However, our historian friend likes it when the chemist talks about chemistry, and even knows much about chemistry.

So, one day, the chemist finally asks, "How do you know so much about chemistry?"

The historian responds, "My dad is a chemist."

The chemist then asks, "How'd you become a historian?"

The historian explains, "My mom is a historian."

The chemist then, without missing a beat, had to ask the historian, "Are you Jewish?"
I see that some others have finally seen this as well. If you (that is, Christians) honestly find this offensive, please tell me. (I don't want anti-Messianics fighting with me just to fight again.) I've gotten no response to this; and can't be sure if that means that nobody or everybody is offended.

I don't think this is offensive but I also don't get it either. What's the connection between a chemist and a historian? On second thought if you were trying to make fun of the historical and geneological roots of the Jewish people I would be offended regardless of whether I was Jewish or not. From one goy of Yesua to another,
