A hebrew work for snake is Nakash.  It means fast-slow. Or it means the copper like mouth of a snake.

See, the devil tries to slip things by with either sensory overload, someone angry and yelling, or sneaky subconcious slitherings.   Thus the fast or slow of the snake.

But I wanted to share with you one more thing.  I read in a Nav Press book that psychology often misses this element of wisdom and folly.

But here is a breakdown I got from the book.

1)every day sinner-not wise as a serpent, but harmless as a dove.

2)wise man-wise as serpent, harmless as a dove.

3)evil fool-wise as serpent, not harmless as a dove.

4)fool-not wise as a serpent, not harmless as a dove.

Look for this in your self.  I caution against useing this to label others.

The main point is we need to be as smart as the devil to guard our selves against evil men (Mt 10:17).

Know how the devil works but don't learn his curiculum.
