Full Version: Is Jesus God Almighty?

Jesus was God almighty in human flesh, walking around on earth in the Person of Jesus Christ. Jesus said himself in Matthew 24:30 that the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. Now lets look and see what {Revelation}  1:7-8 says. Keep in mind that this is Jesus talking. {verse 7-  Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him, So shall it be! Amen. verse 8- I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was, and who is to come, The Almighty. It would appear that Jesus is calling himself the Almighty. John said in Revelation 1:17 when I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said, do not be afraid. I am the first and the last. I am the Living One, I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! The first and the last are always referred to as God Almighty. Lee and Anna[color=red]
He is part of God, like you and me, but only a part.

Nope...He is ALL OF GOD....there is No OTHER.
We Christians believe that Jesus is not actually 'part of God', but a member of the Holy Trinity. There is one God in essence, and God is three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus is fully God and fully man. Christians have an ancient statement of belief, still used by billions of Christians every day:-

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
    born of the Virgin Mary,
    suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic church,
    the communion of saints,
    the forgiveness of sins,
    the resurrection of the body,
    and life everlasting.

*catholic means, in this case 'worldwide', not Roman Catholic.

This statement is called the Apostles' Creed. I hope it helps

RE:
(Totally sarcastic here) Ohhh! Only Jesus, the Jewish gets to be God. What about Portuguese... can we try to be God too, or God only allows his Palestine Prodigy to be God. Ok, you truly are the superior race... you're far greater than everyone else... does that make you feel better to believe?

Because he returned apart from two worlds and no one understands God like him. He was born in the promise land not yet to be reveiled and has Portuguese Blood: God's greatest people.

Yes, his son returned as a portuguese.

ROman Catholic Creed called the Apostles Creed but I'm betting the Apostles never heard of it since hey were Jewish and Knew that Jesus was the Father,Son and Holy Ghost...the above is an abomination to God and anyone who knows and is known of God

The apostles did not know or invent the Apostles creed, that is true. However, they did know that God was three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In Matthew 28:19,20 Jesus says, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen."

Further, In Paul's letter to the Ephesians, chapter 1, the three persons of the Godhead are clearly described and, each person of the Godhead is shown in God's saving mission.

Verses 3 to 7, describe the Father, ending with the statement "to the praise of His glory"

Verses 8 to 12 describe the Son, ending with the statement "to the praise of His glory"

Verses 13 and 14 describe the Holy Spirit, ending with the statement "to the praise of His glory"

It is not only the Roman Catholics who use this statement of faith. Nearly all Christians know and believe it. I am not a Roman Catholic. You are treading on dangerous ground, using such a word as abomination. I say this to help you to be aware that you will be answerable to the Lord for everything you say, especially about your brothers and sisters in the Lord.

I hope you benefit from your BA studies. I loved doing my degree with  ICI University (now Global University). http://www.globaluniversity.edu/
I agree with prophet, Apostle’s creed was invented by the Catholics, it is an abomination to God, and so are all of the other decrees that the Catholics have added. Which is books that were rejected by bible scholars, and to top them all they say that Mary was born with out sin, and they call the Pope –Holy Father. Now this is an abomination that maketh desolation. Anna

RE:
Not disagreeing with you dear Menoret. Just completing your sentence.
God is more than three.... He is The Holy Spirit.

He can be The Father, The Son, The Brother, The Sister, The Cousin, The Uncle, The Nephew, The Aunt, The Pet (Dog or Cat), The Friend, and even the enemy if you defy Him.
