Hello,

I'm a Christian, of the born again "evangelical" variety. I like go witnessing at college campuses and malls, and yesterday I met a Jewish guy for the first time. I found myself fairly unprepared. I can decently handle atheists, agnostics, Mormons and J.W.'s, but I didn't have much to say to a Jew, except the Daniel 9 prophecy.

The three main objections he brought up were:

1. Christians do not keep the Law, it's all about "feelings"
2. I cannot worship an idol/image, therefore a I cannot worship a man called Jesus
3. My fathers were Jewish, I am Jewish.

Fornutately, thx to God of course, I have an oppurtunbity to follow up wirth him, so if anyone might have some witnessing tips for me, or could share any particular thing that convinced you that Jesus was messiah I would be glad to hear it. I also plan to refer him to this site.

thx!

1) Galatians 3:10-12 (New International Version)
All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law." Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith." The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, "The man who does these things will live by them."

In other words, the law of the Lord is perfect and we obviously aren't, therefore no one is able to perfectly observe the law. And if you fall at one point, you have been found guilty of braking the whole law. Because the one who said, you shall not murder also said, you shall not commit adultery.  therefore, those who live by the law will be found guilty by the law. Remember, we have all sinned, thus we are all guilty of braking the law. Not a pleasant feeling huh!

2) Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Psalm 110:1
The LORD says to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."

Also, you may want him to read Isaiah 53

Isaiah 53

Who has believed our message
       and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?

He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
       and like a root out of dry ground.
       He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
       nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

He was despised and rejected by men,
       a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
       Like one from whom men hide their faces
       he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Surely he took up our infirmities
       and carried our sorrows,
       yet we considered him stricken by God,
       smitten by him, and afflicted.

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
       he was crushed for our iniquities;
       the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
       and by his wounds we are healed.

We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
       each of us has turned to his own way;
       and the LORD has laid on him
       the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed and afflicted,
       yet he did not open his mouth;
       he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
       and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
       so he did not open his mouth.

By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
       And who can speak of his descendants?
       For he was cut off from the land of the living;
       for the transgression of my people he was stricken.

He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
       and with the rich in his death,
       though he had done no violence,
       nor was any deceit in his mouth.

Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
       and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering,
       he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
       and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.

After the suffering of his soul,
       he will see the light of life and be satisfied ;
       by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
       and he will bear their iniquities.

Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
       and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
       because he poured out his life unto death,
       and was numbered with the transgressors.
       For he bore the sin of many,
       and made intercession for the transgressors.

3) Your a Jew? Then look and see what the Lord has done!

Psalm 118:22-23
The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; the LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.
