Ok, Im writing a screenplay based on the seige of Jericho and Im curious to know if Jewish tradition attributes an identity to the two spies Joshua sent into Jericho?
Im also curious why these spies arent named in the Bible, when the 12 spies Moses sent into Canaan 40 years before were clearly identified.
In the absence of any other information, im thinking of cidentifying the spies as Archan and Salmon. Archan was the guy who was put to death for stealing items for his own personal gain during the sacking of Jericho. Salmon is recorded in Matthew as marrying Rahab (and therefore a distant relative of Jesus Christ). It makes for an intersting story, and perhaps explains why their names werent recorded in the Biblical account.
Unfortunatley, in order to write a great screenplay I have to fill in the gaps with something that is at least plausible.
Im keen to other peoples thoughts on this matter.
