Of all religions, I think, Jews and Christians have the most in common.
People who were willing to die and people that have lost their lives for their belief.
Religion, not our effort to reach G_d, should be the realization of G_d's effort to reach us. He did, with Y'shua the Saviour.
Gentiles are partakers through G_D's choice of Abraham, Moses, and many others, yet ultimate responsibility for our salvation is accomplished by G_D.
Why Israel? Chosen, afflicted, despised, scorned, yet loved of G_D.
G_d wanted only to bless, and to accomplish this He delivered them from oppression, gave them the covenant promises, even giving us the scriptures by His Holy Spirit, written on our hearts. To see
G_d does not choose perfect people, but uses whosoever will, shows what He will do for one, He will do for another.
Instead of a flood, or fire and brimstone, G_d gave of himself, his beloved son. He did not hide what He was doing in a corner. Y'shua made His mission plain, in the (eyewitness) gospels of his life, death, burial and resurrection. He was and is who He did and now proclaims himself to be.
As a gentile, I can say, I have a love for the household of faith...
Y'shua came at the right time. The world was in a mess. He brought hope to a handful of men and women- Jew first and gentile. He told them to share the good news. By faith in Him they did.
The Israel of G_d stands by faith in Messiah. These the "called out" ones.
The ones who know the truth to be a person, Jesus Christ, proclaim that truth, and those that have tasted the Lord know He is true.
This being the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith, faith in the One that sets us free.
1 Cor 12
[13] For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
