"Senator Obama’s success is spectacular not just for its scale, but for the means by which it has come about. The strategy employed by the Obama campaign, as commentators—including some on the liberal bench—have observed lately, has been one of substituting rhetoric for reason, and style for substance, in an effort to win the hearts of supporters with a syrupy message of change, hope and inspiration. It’s the same style as that adopted by many a Pentecostal preacher, and it seems to be having the same spellbinding results..."

Obama and the Abdication of Reason

why pick on Pentecostal preachers seen the same substitution for rhetoric over reason and style for substance in Baptists,Calvinist,Catholics hell in every denomination form Christianity to Islam to Judaism so what exactly is your point?
Obama is a fake....his ;people don't want him to lose his temper because he comes across as extremely mean....and it strikes me as strange that a black man is running for a party that founded the Ku Klux Klan...fought against the anti lynching laws....passed the Jim Crow Laws...and are now trying to make out that they are the champion of the black man....that's a laugh...the Republican Party was founded to help the black man...they gave them 40 acres and a mule...the Democrats took the 40 acres and a mule back and gave them to the former slave owners and then put the black man back to work on the plantations.....Obama is just the Democrat houseman...nothing more...
Why not direct your question to Brad McDonald who wrote the article? I suspect because Pentecostal preachers are the first to come to many peoples' mind when thinking of emotionalism mixed with preaching. Could be wrong. Brad can clue you in.
