Hello everyone,

I witnessed to a Jewish woman that Jesus Christ was the King Messiah. She disagreed. I showed her the bible, New Testament, 2 Timothy 3:16, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteouness:"

She said, "Just because a book claims to be scripture, do we have to believe it? Is everything that claims it come from G-d, scripture? For example, "The Book of Mormon - Another Testament of Jesus Christ", claims to be scripture, given by inspiration from G-d. Do you and I have to accept it as scripture and follow it just because it claims that it is scripture? What about the Koran, which also claims to come from G-d and is scripture? Do we have to follow these as well? how do we determine if the claim is true?"

I need your help, how can I answer to her questions? I know she has good questions but I am trying to explain to her that the only way to know the truth is God reveals His words to us from the Bible. Can you help me how to answer her questions?

Hope to hear from you all,
May God Bless You!

You've previously stated, unless I'm wrong, that you're a Yehudiah Meshchiah (believing Jewish woman). Start with the Tanakh, than the specifically Jewish books of the Brit Chadashah: Matthew, Mark, and John, Romans (Chapters 1-6, 9-12, 14); Galatians (1-5); James, both letters to Timothy, both letters from Peter, and Jude.

I agree. The TaNaKh is full of pointers to Jesus the Messiah.

Now, if this Jewish woman is well informed by the anti-Missionaries, she will most definitely question your use of a translation (specifically English). If you are Jewish, get a Hebrew TaNaKh and use that. The JPS versions are also good, as they were translated by Jews. I also tend to use the  Tanach""Judaica Press Complete Tanach.". However, avoid using the Artscroll Versions: their translation is not really a translation:

Quote:
The Torah translation has been criticised by a few Modern Orthodox scholars, e.g. B. Barry Levy, and by some non-Orthodox scholars, as mistranslating the text. The dispute comes about because the editors at Mesorah Publications consciously attempt to present a translation of the text based on rabbinic tradition and medieval biblical commentators such as Rashi, as opposed to a completely literal translation. -from Wikipedia

Notice that many (if not all) anti-Missionaries use the Artscroll version. One anti-Missionary even disparaged the JPS Version found in the Ultra-Orthodox site "Mechon Mamre" in the old "Jews for Judaism" site.

So be very careful: if she begins to use Artscroll, she is actually a trained anti-Missionary. If you can read and understand Hebrew, it will help a lot if you use an actual Hebrew TaNaKh. If not, JPS is the next best.

There is a good Hebrew-English online TaNaKh at Mechon Mamre. Be careful, they are also anti-Christian, but their Bible version is more of a faithful translation than Artscroll or Judaica. Ask around for the Messianic passages that point to Jesus.
I was sure (almost) trying to be good and trying to be nice was enough.
It is not. People prayed for me. The most important matter to realize as truth is we are sinners in need of a redeemer. It is most important Galia for the person you are concerned about, that they know that Christ Jesus is the Son of G-d, born of a virgin, the sinless son of man. He was crucified, dead and buried, and raised again according to the law and prophets. If you are adept in showing her the prophecies and the fulfillments in Y'shua, and if she is willing to hear, it would be well worth your time.

You could show her the blessing of those that keep G-d's commandments and the commandments Messiah gave, and that there is no contradiction.

Y'shua (Jesus) said,

John.5
[39] Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

I believe there is enough information and scripture references here on this site to convince anyone who desires to know the truth.
