My sisters, one of whom is Jewish, seem to have hard feelings toward Israel, disapproving of their behavior. I understand others in the US, and also Europe, to see Israel in a very bad light as well. To me, this seems like the mirror image of my own viewpoint - that Israel is THE shining light in the middle east, and that they are the VICTIMS of various evil forces...
But I don't want to be ignorant. They are not talking to me, because I'm too hawkish in their view (I really, really, really think someone needs to destroy Iran NOW) so I'll post the question I would have asked them here....
Is Israel behaving badly?
Are they commiting atrocities?
Is Palestine an "apartheid state?"
To the best of my knowledge, for my Jewish sister to hold Israel in contempt is some kind of expression of legendary Jewish guilt.
But, perhaps this is not all there is to it. So I am all ears....
Isn't my sister just a victim of propaganda?

No....having been in Israel many times, in the end
the Arabs have more freedom and less government
hassle than the Jews do.

problems with Israel...they listen to her enemies instead of to her.

You betcha! Tell her to dress as a religious Jew and walk or
drive through Palestinian areas. Then tell her to dress as an
observant Muslim and walk through the Jewish areas.
I think she will quickly change her mind...

I find this to be a interesting thread that deserves attention. We must be sensitive to how we approach this topic since not everyone shares the same opinion.
