Aaron spoke for Moses at times but Moses was to him instead of God. Ex:4:16:
So there is a double meaning from De:18:15 revealed in the NT in Lu:24:44
Deut:18:15: The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me ; unto him ye shall hearken;
LIKE UNTO ME - as the PROPHET Moses
and
LIKE UNTO ME - GOD John:10:30;Re:22:13
Joh:12:48: He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
Joh:12:49: For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
Joh:12:50: And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
Deut:18:15 in it's fullness was not Joshua but for the present was to be. Joshua had been with God and Moses many years and was given charge of the Israeiltes in Deut:31:23. God had His Final Plan which was foreshadowed.
The Messiah Son of God was to come to Israel "like unto me" is the Lord God.
The Messiah Jesus acknowledged this when He spoke
Lu:24:44: And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses , and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
Isa:59:20: And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
Isa:59:21: As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
Yeshua said it:
Lu:4:18: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
What Covenant!
The Blood of the Lamb of God
Zec:9:11: As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.
Jer:31:31: Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with
the house of Judah:
God has made a New Covenant a New Testament.
M't:26:28: For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
God would come down and be born of a virgin and speak the Word given to Him by God His Father as prophesied in Deut:18:15.
The Lord hath called me from the womb. Isaiah 49:1 Matthew 1:20-21
Isa:49:1: Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.
M't:1:20: But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
M't:1:21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Other scripture:
Lu:1:26: And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
Lu:1:27: To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
Lu:1:28: And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
Lu:1:29: And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
Lu:1:30: And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
Lu:1:31: And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
Lu:1:32: He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Lu:1:33: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Lu:1:34: Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
Lu:1:35: And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
“Who could tell, that he was cut away out of the land of life, (that) for the transgressions of my people the plague was laid on him?” (Isaiah 53:8b)
When was this written?
700 B.C.
WHO is speaking through the prophet?
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
WHO is “my people?”
The Jewish people.
WHO is “cut away” (dies)?
The One greater than Moses. (See Deuteronomy 18:18-19).
Could this be Israel or the Jewish people instead of the Messiah?
NO, because the Jewish prophet Isaiah says this One would do “no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth” (Isaiah 53:9b). Also, Psalm 14:3 says “there is none [human] that doth good, no, not even one.”
When would this One come?
Daniel says the Anointed One (Messiah) would come and die for our sins before the Second Temple was destroyed. It was destroyed in A.D. 70. (See Daniel 9:24-26).
It's all there. It is a matter of seeing and hearing God's word and believing. Following up and following through in obedience to God's word is necessary too.
Shalom!
In Rosh HaShana, we have the Day of the Great King, and we are called to account in His presence the past year, and the dedication of the New Year. This is part of love the L-RD thy G-D with all thy heart, etc.
On Yom Kippur, we have spent the past 8 or 10 days seeking forgiveness from those we have wronged or offended by an act of sin on our part (not on theirs). We fulfill the part of love thy neighbor as thyself.
On Sukkot, those in eretz Israel build a sukkah, a tabernacle of branches and fruit, with 3 sides, and open to the stars above. This is a festival of "joy" and of "forgiveness". Man enters into his own personal tabernacle relationship with G-D, one even MORE intimate than the holy priests entering into the Temple. Each of these 3 walls represent each occassion in which all the males must come up to Jersualem and stand before the L-RD. Each represents the fathers of Abraham - Isaac - and Jacob. Each wall also represents the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost...and when we read John 14:20, 23, 26, et al.; we should read in the context of one who also indwells the Sukkah during the Festival of Tabernacles.
As a man lays down to sleep, he beholds a handful of stars, and considers his own lineage, that his sons might also be reckoned as the "sons of G-D", even as the stars fill the heavens. The song of Psalm 27 is sung twice a day during the Festival.
Psalm 27:5 says, "For He shall hide me in His SUKKAH in the Day of Evil, He shall hide me in the secrecy of His Tabernacle: on a Rock, shall He lift me up." Compare this with Psalm 118:5,15-16; and recognize that "salvation" here and in Psalm 27 incorporates the very name of Yeshua (i.e., Jesus).
365 days a year, the priests offer the wine libation. Only during Sukkot, is the water libation offered. Even the Rabbis use Isaiah 12. But Isaiah 12 tells us clearly, that the water libation is drawn from "out of the wells of Yeshua", for "G-D is Yeshua", and that "YH YHVeH is become to me Yeshua" (Isaiah 12:3, 2). He is the source and the mountain artesian well (maqor)* of Living Waters as HASHEM (Jeremiah 2:13, 17:13) from which we figuratively, spiritually, and literally draw from.

A blessed Tabernacles to you all. Shalom.

I found this thread clarifying, illuminating and encouraging!
Joh:12:50: And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
But did Judaism miss that mitzvot that was spoken through Moshe HaNavi-ben-'Amram? Or did Talmudists forget D'varim?
