I was recently in New York City with a friend and we decided to talk to the Jews for Jesus handing out Y'Shua flyers. I've actually had experience among Jews for Jesus before. My mom has been involved with the movement and she brought me to their services several times. I never got into it though because the group I went to reminded me a bit of the fundamentalist Christian church I grew up in called Seventh Day Adventists. There were a lot of differences between JFJ and SDA but they seem to share a common feeling of powerlessness to help stop doomsday and the end of the world.  Sad

I enjoyed speaking to the JFJ group in Manhattan and it felt good just to share ideas even if we disagreeed with each other on the foundation of our beliefs. I wanted to share the journey I made from out of fundamentalism to universalism but I didn't have a card with me showcasing one of my websites. The URL is below and I hope some of the JFJ folks take a look at it. Together we can perhaps explore the dark side of fundamentalism. This dialogue could be done in the spirit of Jesus; who according to prophecy, returns to heal the rift between east and west while putting an end to the destructive war between this duality that threatens to destroy humanity and the Earth.

I also want to say hello to the two folks from Manhattan I met. A nice girl and a nice guy (can't remember their names). I did find their pics on the website:

I respect the passion of the Jews for Jesus movement and I would love to meet, pray and fellowship with other messianic believers in the Portland Oregon area, there is a deep longing in my spirit to get to know other Jewish/Gentile Christians and be accepted by them,I sincerely hope I can be a blessing to other followers. I am not messianic, so I can't be of much help to you. But surely
there must be messianic churces in the Portland area? Have you
checked the yellow pages or on line? Smile
Is it alright if a non-jew christian posts on this forum? I'm just curious on how to get my friend to know Jesus.

She's a good friend of mine, a very nice person. So I would like her to know who Jesus is.
There is a beautiful Jews for Jesus Church in Oklahoma City, called, "Kehilat Rosh Pinah" and anyone who believes Yeshua is the Messiah and loves Him is welcome to come. There are Jews and non Jews, and the non Jews are grafted in as Jews; therefore everyone is One, so come!

We can't stop the end of the world. But we can do what Paul and Peter did: Preach the Gospel first to Jew, then also to the Gentile (Romans 1:16).
