Pray for my student Josh (he graduated two years ago). He visited with my wife and I last Saturday night and asked a lot of questions about the Bible and about the difference between Catholics and Protestants. He also came back on Sunday to go to church with us. (It was interesting because one of the verses that he was questioning me about was used in the sermon. Go, God!) He was very open and seems to want to go back to church with us. Please pray that he accepts Christ soon.
What a wonderful God we have!
He knows what we need and when we need it.
I will be praying for Josh to join the family of God sooner rather than later.

Thank you for your prayers!
Josh became a Christian on Sunday. I just found out. And I'm so excited. I missed church due to a wedding. Actually, the wedding was the previous night, and I was dead tired. But Josh went to church by himself and accepted Christ. Praise the Lord!
He came over tonight for dinner with his younger brother (who is a current student), and didn't say anything. He just handed me his New Believers Bible by Greg Laurie. At first, I didn't understand. I thought he was just showing me a Bible that he bought (I didn't realize our church gave them out). But when I realized by the expression on his face what it meant, I just about cried. We talked for several hours, and now his younger brother is asking questions.
Please continue praying for Josh. I've seen people accept the Lord and then walk away. I don't want that to happen to Josh.
I also you to pray for Bryan, Josh's brother.
And finally, I also ask you to pray for me. I'm Josh's only Christian friend, and I think the task of discipling Josh has fallen on me. I talked way over his head about God tonight (I forget that new believers don't even know what the the gospels are). Please pray that I say only what's necessary to his growth. You all know me: keeping it brief and to the point is not my gift.
I'm thrilled to hear of Josh becoming a member of the family!
You will be a fine mentor/discipler and before you know it Josh will be bringing other friends into the family.
Of course I will be praying for you as you disciple Josh and the friends and family he will be introducing you to as well as for Bryan.
That's what we do, brother.

How are things going with Josh and Bryan?

Josh is amazing. He can't get enough Bible and asks questions that I'm surprised by. God really seems to be doing something in his life. Josh is going to the college and career group on his own to meet other Christians his age, and without prompting from anyone, deleted all the foul stuff on his iPod. Just amazing! Personally, what I love best, though, is that Josh has become such a close friend now, almost like a son to both my wife and I. God has blessed me immensely through Josh.
Bryan is still in the picture, but disappointingly not a Christian yet. Whatever is going to reach Bryan and convince him of his need for Christ hasn't happened yet. Bryan is still very open to talking, but I think that God is going to use the change in Josh to reach Byran and the rest of Josh's family, and that may take some time.
Pray for Josh, specifically that God continues to grow him and that He will use Josh's music (Josh's passion in life is the saxophone) for His purposes; and pray for Bryan's salvation, that he begins to understand his sin and need for Christ.
Thanks for asking about them and for all your prayers, Sammy! Let me know when I can return the favor.
