I have aproblem of prosperity teaching because a lot of real Christians in Africa and Asia are in poverty and some "prosperity teaching" emphasizes much with the "if your poor then you are in the bondage of HaSatan"
I dont think so...Elder Kepha(Peter) even said in the Book of Acts "silver and gold i have none..." So mean to say that Elder Kepha is in the bondage of the enemy?
A lot of Pastor are emphasizing stuff like that especially in the TBN channel which i find so disturbing. When in Torah Av YHWH said "there will always be poor amongst you..." Is it a consent of hasatan to biind some of our brethren in his power? And even Lord Yashuah said "there will always be poor amongst you...
I think our responsibility as a Christian is not on the prosperity but our responsibility towards our neighbor especially the poor amongst us.
Shalom!

That's why former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's words echo: that where the religious and/or faithful won't get involved, the government will; and that's what scares me in regards to the Church and GOP, and Dems (some within the Church) and socialism-communism.

If you want to do something in this world I have found that the following are important from a practical perspective... and that is health & money this is why your time and money is a fragrant odor of an offering and sacrifice which G-d welcomes and in which He delights!
Yes faith in G-d is indispensable and most important but faith in G-d often has practical application and manifestations.
Jewpoet you always have good posts but this isn't one of them
Is healing G-ds will?
May He increase His anointing on our lives Amen
1Co 4:8 Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.
3Jn 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Php 4:18 But I have [your full payment] and more; I have everything I need and am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent me. [They are the] fragrant odor of an offering and sacrifice which God welcomes and in which He delights.

This is why Barak Obama's liberal christianity has a difficult target.
Hunger or people with no shelter is really a problem that has been abolished in America.
A more elusive target would be to get rid of poor people, the communistic way would to be by makeing everyone poor!
I care about feeding the hungry and clotheing the naked too, but it seems to me like makeing abortion illigal and stopping militant gays from going wild is more of an urgent problem to stop God's wrath.
We need to turn Obama loose in Africa and have him stop starvation in Africa.
Make him president of the United Nations.
Hi Jew Poet,
I keep asking , Why did the wise men give baby Jesus gifts? They had Abraham's blessing such as through Daniel's prophecy. They might have wanted confirmation of fulfillment so they could tell their children?
This also tells me there is more than a prosperity gospel.
Prosperity Teaching is a false teaching that if your poor or do not have a good car or hosue etc... then you do not have enough faith
Jesus himself go against this teaching.
He says even little faith as small as the smallest seed can move moutains.

God does give us good health etc... but Propesty teaching is mainly about HOW MUCH you give.
that you have to give a certain amout etc... to get bless from God.
If you would listen to property teaching you will see one they are selling miracles. they say if you give this much and that God will work a miracle in your life. I do not believe in selling God.
If you do not give this much etc..... God will not bless you
I do not believe God will not bless us for not giving what the pastor wants.
God judges On the REASON why it being giving.
perfect example is Luke the old lady give 2 pennies.
The rich give bags and loads of money.
The people said look at this lady she gvie so little!
Jesus stands up and says she given more then you all because she give all she had.
The point is what she gave was from her heart not wealth .
Prosperity teaching is anathema. We aren't even told ONCE to pursue earthly wealth...over spritual "wealth".
And peculiarly western, too. Where we already HAVE great wealth. (Even our most poor are relatively wealthy to the rest of out brothers in the world.)
I detest TBN and it's false prophets. Leading people from God, not to Him. Selling Jesus, for sure. Their god is Mammon.
Jim Bakker got caught fleecing the flock, they changed their theology...now it's what they encourage all followers to do.
Meanwhile, our brothers in Asia/Africa starve. What does that say?
By their portfolios you shall know them?
God does give us good health etc... but Prosperity teaching is mainly about HOW MUCH you give.

yes what she gave was from her heart not wealth and it totaled to 100%.
No one should give under compulsion outside a relationship with the L-rd and His leading.
If you give to any prosperity ministry you will lose your money but if you give to G-d through a prosperity ministry because they preach the gospel and get people saved you shall receive a multiplied reward.
I understand where you guys are coming from but I will stand with the repetitive giving ministries if they preach the gospel.
The HOW MUCH MONEY is relevant only if you are serious about preaching to all the world. If one does not love much he will not need much.
Let me ask you a question: Would the Gospel be in a better situation if an extra million ended up in your hands this year? I don't know you guys and I will say if you know the L-rd gave it to you the answer is an absolute YES!
Ideally we should all take the burden together and share the blessings together with what we have not tomorrow but even today.
Anyway the power of G-d is more important then finances. Mark 16
[quote]God does give us good health etc... but Propesty teaching is mainly about HOW MUCH you give.
quote]
And without the expectation of "GETTING 10-fold or 100-fold in return" as I have heard "taught" on those kinds of "Jesus shows".... the emphasis is on how much you will GET in return.
And the health aspect is just ridiculous... "quit taking your medicine and ONLY repent; you are sick because of sin in your life"... funny how Paul didn't say that to Timothy. He told him: "Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities." 1 Tim 5:23
Our focus should be on "joy through any circumstances": "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Cor 12:9
And finally, we are to give simply for the giving, not under any duress, or with the promise of a financial or health return. And we will be provided what we NEED (not necessarily what we want).
"For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.
Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality.
At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality,
as it is written: 'He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little.'”
IMO, prosperity teaching leads people to covet. Then to give based on their coveting. I don't find that biblical at all.
