This book is funny without trying to be. He picks up on how proufound realities of life and mortality are humorous.
He has the story of the first people to climb mount everest.
He has other chapters with his own personal storys such as how failure impacted his carrer as a highschool shot put thrower or something like that.
This book is Jewishly funny. If he isn't Jewish he should be.
It is hard to explain it, but I think this book helped me with my philosophy of life.
For example, when thinking of the absurdity of trying to capture the past, he says what if every object ever owned by a famous person, I think Theodor Roosevelt was his example, were kept in air tight vaults.
The other book, by Christian Pastor, teacher and Author John Maxwell is very practical. I still have on 5X8 index cards things I gleened from the book to review periodically.
He gives examples of new inventions that came from goof ups such as Kellogs corn flakes, scott towels and ivory soap.
Connected to failture is adversity. He notes that adversity has advantages and also has an interesting list of the top ten reasons people fail.
