The Messiah, be he Jesus or someone else is the main threat to traditional Jewish life.

Hinderances to Jewish life-
1) Islamic claims to the temple mount.
2) Financial constraints to a Yeshiva education
3) A weak Jewish community locally
Strange how you can write something a while back in the heat of the moment then later say, Huh? to your self.

I think the Levites need maintain a pure tribe for the temple priest duties.

And all the tribes will need to know who they are to get their inheritances.

I know some of the things I brought up are not a real threat now, but in the back of people's minds they think about the past.

The hardest hit of assimilation is when someone marries a nonjew.
Assimilation isn't really a threat, it is religiouis or ethnic suicide or something like that.

A threat, nonjews who are too nice or friendly?

Assimilation has no mind or agenda, no ethinic group in its cross hairs.
