I have another post here about the daughters of Zelophecad in terms of the end times.
But here I was thinking about inheritance after I read some interesting notes in my Jewish study Bible.
In the Orthodox Jewish community alot of effort goes into getting married to the right person.
But here is the thing. If you don't get married to the right person, the year of Jubilee wont help you.
That's right, you might sell your land and get it back in 50 years; but if Hoglah gets married to a guy from the tribe of Asher then it is gone.
You see, first, in Ch 27 of Numbers/Bamidbar the girls got the land even though they had no brothers.
Then, in Ch 36 their clan pointed out that they would lose it also if the girls go married outside the tribe.
The spiritual point of this is we inherit salvation when we are joined to the Lord as the Bride of Messiah Yeshua.
This runs contrary to a conceptualization over emphasizing good works.
This is why in the Book of Romans Paul says we have not inherited a spirit of fear but our in heritance is the Rouach Hakodesh.
In the Bar, the Son of God we inherit all things (Romans 8:32).
For some reason they ended the book of Numbers with this story. It must be important.
