WARSAW, Poland (May 12) - Irena Sendler - a Polish social worker who helped save some 2,500 Jewish children from the Nazis by smuggling them out of the Warsaw Ghetto and giving them false identities - has died. She was 98.
Irena Sendler
A recent news story of Irena that shouldn't go unnoticed. For myself it's easy to "imagine" the circumstances and actions, though I ask: How would I have reacted, would I be as courageous?
Right now I'm just thankful that she showed it's possible act, because there are some things more important than just saving one's own neck.
