Revelation 2:20 (NKJV) refers to "that woman Jezebel" .......
"Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols."
There are some who believe this is a reference to an actual woman (possibly the 'Pastors Wife') in the congregation of the Church of Thyatira. I personally see no histrorical or other scriptural evidence to support that view.
I believe the reference to "that woman Jezebel" is a reference to the 'Jezebel Spirit'; i.e.,"...the symbolical Jezebel was to the Church of Thyatira what Jezebel, Ahab's "wife," was to him. Some self-styled prophetess (or as the feminine in Hebrew is often used collectively to express a multitude, a set of false prophets), as closely attached to the Church of Thyatira as a wife is to a husband, and as powerfully influencing for evil that Church as Jezebel did Ahab...." (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary).
I would really appreciate any comments and/or views on this please.
Kind Regards
