I got the following email yesterday, which says:

Dear Friends,

I am heartsick at what is happening in our country.  Several times a day from now until the election I will be praying this simple prayer.  Will you join me?

"Almighty God please have mercy on my country and save us from the evil one."

Sure will , and have been praying similarly for quite some time.

Also pray for my family. We're scared that if Barack Obama becomes President, he may go after my mom's sister's survivors (that is, all of my mom's family and friends); because we generally are Christian and either Roman Catholics or Protestants (I'm a patrilineally-Jewish Presbyterian), and I think that my mom's late sister may have been spared from a coming wrath on the USA. The G-d of Israel may let the DNC rule this country.
