Today, after reading Rom. 5:11 (New Living Translation), "So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God," it reminded me of a question I have.  First, the preface:  I believe that the New Testament teaches that ONLY those who are reconciled to God THROUGH JESUS can be "friends" of God and thus may approach Him directly without the "veil" barring the way.  (ref. Jn 14:6, Rom 5:10, 2 Cor 5:20, Mt 27:51, Heb 10:19)  How can I claim this to Jewish friends if they either are, or know other Jews who are like Tevya, from "Fiddler on the Roof," who has ongoing conversations with God?  From all outward appearances, it seems that Tevya is a friend of God & approaches Him directly.  Please help me see this more clearly.
To directly answer your question, YES, you are supposed to witness to Jewish people about their Messiah Y'shua having come and paid the penalty for their sins (and ours). Remember, Tevya is a character in a movie, not a real person.  Often real people who do pray to God or whoever are real sincere people seeking truth. If you have the truth, give it to them so they no longer have to search. You don't know the anguish of the heart that is never being filled otherwise that needs the peace of forgiveness of sin.

Shalom.
