part two:
They knew God through the commandments , and this is how they saw Jahweh. It was a god who was given to them through the Law .
But they did not know their God from within their heart .
This is why the christ called them hypocrits and becaus of their hypocrosy Jahweh did not give them the light to take the vaile away before their eyes.
John 9:40,41
Then Jesus said, "I came into this world for judgment, so that those who do not see might see, and those who do see might become blind."
Some of the Pharisees who were with him heard this and said to him, "Surely we are not also blind, are we?"
Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you are saying, 'We see,' so your sin remains.
. This is why Jesus again point this to them through his words in Johannes 8:19:
So they said to him, "Where is your father?" Jesus answered, "You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also."
Also we can read in Isajah59:1,2 :
Lo, the hand of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.
Rather, it is your crimes that separate you from your God, It is your sins that make him hide his face so that he will not hear you"
Jahweh did hide his face for them so they could not see his identity
So when the Jews watched fully how Jesus was crusified by the Romans in their own rightousness God showed them his name
And there they saw black and white written the name of" their" God, JHWH on the wooden plate that hanged above his head.
The horror to face this made them go to Pilate and ask him to change what he had written .This was how they took away the name of their God JHWH
So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, "Do not write 'The King of the Jews,' but he said, 'I am the King of the Jews.'"
Pilate answered, "What I have written, I have written.
And right he was!
