Amen, and ditto here.
In Messiah, Shalom.  Arley
Well,
The commandment is to ask for the shalom of Jerusalemites...

Well I live there, the modern borders are bigger than the old city... So I don't know what HaShem thinks about that.

But anyway thanks.
When Abram went to Egypt due to the dearth (or famine) in Genesis 12,
I didn't see where he asked God first. That is where He got in a lot of trouble, lying about his wife.

He went up, north and then South, out of Egypt (after the famine) then to Bethel and Ai. There he settled and built an altar after the split with Lot. This location
is actually the southern kingdom of Judah, during David's reign. I think there is significance in this. The heart of Israel maybe. Also looking at a map you see that the possibility of a red sea crossing 430+ years after God's covenant with Abram, a little further south along the route where he came back into Canaan, is quite feasible with the right wind and water conditions. Abram also settled in Hebron, where David reigned 7 1/2 years as King of Judah.

I see in all this the mighty hand of Yahweh working his plan to  make Israel a mighty nation through one of many promises, as He continues to do today. Their rich history shows God favoured them for a reason, that ALL the world should be blessed through Abraham's seed.

Also the 11 day trip from Egypt to Canaan took Moses and his camp 40 yrs. Lord, teach me not to murmer and complain.

I think the Golan Heights, the Gaza strip and the West Bank should remain completely in the hands of Israel, from this time forth and forever.
Although Ariel Sharon did give up some land in peace efforts, I do not believe Yahweh was punishing him with sickness for his peace gesture.
If the church is the bride of Christ, that makes the daughter of Zion the virgin bride. I believe that if you are in Christ you are conditioned automatically to pray for the peace of Israel and Jerusalem.

Isa.31
[1] Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

Zech.8
[13] And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.

Judah means praise...

Bethel means House of God...
