Hop on the bus Gus, make a new plan Stan.

OOOps, that's a different thing.

1) Flipancy.  CS Lewis talks about this in the screw tape letters how some sinners can reject the most profound topics by turning them into a joke.  Not that all jokeing is bad.  Jesus used hyperbole.  But proverbs warn of passive agressives who shoot verbal arrows and then say that they are only jokeing.

2) Suggest they have a demon.  They did this to Jesus in the Gospel of John.

3) Say he is crazy or studies too much.  Felix said this about Paul.

4) Say they are drunk.  This is what happened in the book of Acts when a carnal person saw a person fervent in spirit, same thing happened to Hannah.

5) Question their credentials as God's messeger.  This is what happened to Amos in his book in Chapter 7 verse 14 where the king is trying to point out that Amos doesn't look like a prophet.
