I lost track of George Carlin after high school (1978). Then I lived for 10+ yrs. without a television. Later on I found out that God wasn't that important to him. People pay attention to what you believe and what  you say. I wish the media had kept their mouth shut. (Sometimes reality stinks.)

Because I 've had really bad experiences with those who blatantly or through ignorance, ignore Christ, and God and his teachings, I have a real low tolerance for people that choose to live by the devils standards.

I know this is where I lack. I know for a fact at times I do not have the compassion of Jesus. I am hateful sometimes, and I regret it later.

I am praying God will give me the compassion I had before I realized what a sinner I really was. That is the paradox. It takes knowing what a sinner you really are to even begin to understand Christ's love and to recieve it. Not every one wants to admit such a thing. Once you do though, Christ is there. He promised himself and His spirit. When I die I want people to be able to praise God for the new life Jesus gave me reason to live.

The above part of the words you spoke is, probably, why no one has addressed this thread.  We, one and all, should feel exactly as you have stated.
Well said, and from me, for one:  Ditto!

I praise Him for the new life He's given you while you are yet alive.

Side note, I'm sure there are other gifts of the Spirit in you in spite of your claim not to have the gift of mercy. God uses people who can point out the ugliness of sin, too...even from personal experience... I think that's called the gift of exhortation(?)

From that poem The Hound Of Heaven, by Francis Thompson,

Whom wilt thou find
to love ignoble thee,
Save ME, save only Me?

I believe that God sends bad people into our lives, and allows us to see ourselves when we should be at our finest and willfully are not, to draw us closer to Him.  Exhibit A, over by here.  Lone_ranger
If you have sacrificed for your belief in Christ, wear your scars proudly.
Death had no hold on our Saviour. It has no hold on any (child) son of God.

Blessings to you in Y'shua's name.
