1Peter 2:5 You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Yeshua the Messiah.
2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:  2:10 who in time past were no people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

13:34 Yeshua spoke all these things in parables to the multitudes; and without a parable, he didn’t speak to them, 13:35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,

“I will open my mouth in parables;
    I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.”*

13:36 Then Yeshua sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. His disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the darnel weeds of the field.”

Ask your self "Why did Yeshua explain the meaning of his parables only to his diciples?"

Is it because the asked him to do so ?
His disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the darnel weeds of the field.”

Lukas11:9 “I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.  11:10 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

Yes for the bible says so !

Jesus was perhaps the best communicator of all time. The reason he spoke in parables was to encourage the mass for reflection without pointing fingers.

The Purpose of Parables

10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”
11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12 For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. 13 Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. 14 And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:

      ‘ Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,
      And seeing you will see and not perceive;
       15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
      Their ears are hard of hearing,
      And their eyes they have closed,
      Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
      Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
      So that I should[a]heal them.’[b]

16 But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;

hahaha, did you believe in that! No, never did.
Re: The purpose of parables

First of all, Jesus did not speak in parables exclusively to fulfill one of Isaiah's prophecies. I believe he did fulfill it by doing so, but the reason was not to talk to people simply so they couldn't understand.

Parables by definition are an analogy - a easy way to make a comparison. In other words, a short simple story, from which a moral or religious lesson can be drawn.

By speaking in parables Jesus could aim to morally target certain sects of the crowd without offending or pointing fingers. Those that understood the comparison he was making would be encouraged to reflect upon themselves. The ones that wouldn't understand, wouldn't be bothered or affected by the criticism.

GoyofY'shua, to answer your question, I'll ask you a question:

How can a man that do not read scripture on a daily basis, understand it's content better than another that does?

It could be answered the way Jesus replied...

      ‘ Hearing you will hear and shall not understand,
      And seeing you will see and not perceive;
       15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull.
      Their ears are hard of hearing,
      And their eyes they have closed,
      Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears,
      Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
      So that I should[a]heal them.’[b]
