If the priests referenced in the Old Testament at 1 Chronicles 24:7-18 are from every nation under heaven (Acts 2:5), then I believe that these priests of old ARE the twenty-four elders out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation (Re.5:9) seen in heaven in the book of Revelation (Re.4:4, Re.5:8-10, Re.11:6, Re.19:4).

If that is so, we then know the names of the twenty-four elders of the book of Revelation  - Jehoiarib, Jedaiah, Harim, Seorim, Malchijah, Mijamin, Hakkoz, Abijah, Jeshua, Shecaniah, Eliashib, Jakim, Huppah, Jeshebeab, Bilgah, Immer, Hezir, Aphses, Pethahiah, Jehezekel, Jachin, Gumul, Delaiah, Maaziah.  (1 Chron.24:7-18)

I believe that the devout Jews dwelling at Jerusalem who were out of every nation under heaven (Acts 2:5) at the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:3-11) are the "many" who were raised out of their graves after the Lord's resurrection who went into the holy city and appeared unto many (Matt.27:52-53), the "many" who were raised out of their graves being the twenty-four elders seen in heaven in the book of Revelation  (Re.4:4, Re.5:8-10, Re.11:16, Re.19:4).

Very interesting thought. I've never considered  who the Revelation Elders are. The only thing it says is that there are 24 of them and that they have white robes and crowns. They worship before the throne.

The twenty four elders in Chronicles are all descendants of Aaron and his two sons (Eleazar and Ithamar). That might qualify them for the position. David had them chosen by lot and that seems to be the way the will of God was revealed at times.

Just off hand I don't see where the twenty four elders are said to be out of/from every kindred, tongue, people and nation. Did I overlook that?

If these are the ones who make up the Revelation elders then you would, indeed, know the names of the twenty four elders!
Twenty-four Elders out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation (Re.5:9 below).

The nations are given at Acts 2:3-11, below.

Re.5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God (the Father) by thy blood (Jesus) out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

Every Nation under Heaven -

Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues (languages – Acts 2:6, 8 below), as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 2:5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of EVERY nation (Acts 2:9-10 below) under heaven.

Acts 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language (tongue – Act.2:8 below).

Acts 2:7 And they (the multitude – Acts 2:6 above) were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

Acts 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue (language – Acts 2:6, 11), wherein we were born (Acts 2:9-11 below)?

Acts 2:9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

Acts 2:10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

Acts 2:11   Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues (languages – Acts 2:6, 8 above) the wonderful works of God.

In the new earth (Re.21:1, Isa.65:17 below), saints of the most High will possess God’s kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever (Dan.7:22, Dan.7:18 below).

I believe that the inhabitants of the new earth who take part in the first resurrection (which occurs after the Millennium - Re.20:5 below), will not be allowed to enter into the kingdom of God (Jn.3:3 below).

Only the kings of the nations of the new earth will be allowed to enter in (Re.5:10, Re.21:24-26 below).  The kings of the nations of the new earth are the twenty-four elders (Re.5:10 below)

Re.21:1 And I saw a NEW heaven and a NEW earth (Isa.65:17 below): for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away (Re.20:11, Dan.2:35, 2 Pe.3:10); and there was no more sea (Dan.7:3, Dan.7:17, Isa.66:24).

Isa. 65:17 For, behold, I create NEW heavens and a NEW earth (Re.21:1 above): and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Dan.7:22 Until the Ancient of days (Dan.7:13) came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High (1 Cor.6:2-3, Re.15:3); and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom (Dan.7:18 below).

Dan.7:18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom (Dan.7:22 above) for ever, even for ever and ever.

Re.20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were FINISHED.  This is the first resurrection.

Re.21:24 And the nations of them which are saved (Re.20:5 above) shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth (Re.5:10) do bring their glory and honour into it.

Re.21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

Re.21:26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it (Re.21:24 above).

Re:5:10 And hast made us unto our God KINGS AND PRIESTS: and we shall reign on the earth.

Jn.3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Shalom, Bible Prophecy.

I fear I'm having a problem with your calculations, and chronology factors.
Many graves 'opened' when Messiah gave up the Spirit, on the cross.
They arose when He arose, and were seen by many.

Now, fifty +- days later, at Shavuot, these same, resurrected, beings are living, and healthy, so the Apostles could minister to them, all in their own dialect, accept Messiah, and be baptised, twenty four within a group of three thousand?  Couple that with the next inclusion in Biblical History, is when we see them before the Throne, in Revelations 21. I hop you can see where I might have a problem accepting, what seems to be the product of deep research.

I ask, for asking sake:  What happened to the original twelve Patriarchs of the tribes of Israel, and the twelve Apostles (total= 24)?  Creative as my mind is, I am unable, at this time, to wrap my mind around your offering, as viable.

I further noticed that you did not include Rev. 21:27, which wraps verses 24-26 into a nice, complete, statement.

(Rev 21:24 KJV)  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it.

(Rev 21:25 KJV)  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

(Rev 21:26 KJV)  And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.

(Rev 21:27 KJV)  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Help me to understand your approach to this idea.  I'm stumped so far.

In Messiah, Shalom.  Arley
