One of our fellow posters made this remark recently, and it reminded me of my new leaf I have determined to turn for my next employer:

At first, I was innocently posting either just before the work day started, or on lunch, or even after work.  But it eventually rolled over into the actual work day, and that is stealing from the employer, folks!  Also, at least in our American economy, employers are looking for anyone they figure they can do without and thereby boost the bottom line.

Employers can see (and hire personnel to do just that) every website their employees visit or what they write in company and personal e-mail accounts.

I have tried to convert my fellow former co-workers to observe this strict personal policy, since the market is competitive here after a number of layoffs for my line of work.  For Christians it is an easily identifiable way to not disgrace ourselves in the eyes of those before whom we want to let Christ be seen in us.  And to be perceived as odd in a most acceptable way.
It is good to be a full asset to your employer. If you've got time to lean, you've got time to clean. I used to recieve phone calls late in the day at work. Because it was a smaller company and family operated (30 employees), lieniency was granted.

When it became a habit the privilege was suspended. Maybe the fact that some of the other employees secretly "coveted" the spotlight of attention and didn't have it in such a manifest form led the mgmt. to rethink their policy.

BTW Baptistic, I am OK. I quit the Star Trek re-runs after the Abe Lincoln
episode. Exclaim
