My name is Tammy and I am a christian, I am trying to understand the Torah....which at times seems confuseing to me. Now a friend of mine said I should study Kabbalah because it will shine a light on the Old Testament. They speak of the language of Roots and Branches? And they say because the Torah was wriiten in that spiritual language thats why I dont understand it.....Is this true? Is the Kabbalah the light of the Torah? Could someone help me?
thank you in advance, Tammy
Tammy,
Greetings!
I am Jewish and can only offer you this advice.
BE CAREFUL!!!!!
True Kabbalah is very, very deep. It is not, and has nothing to do with the Kabbalah that Madonna studies.
Elder Jewish Rabbi's who study Kabbalah have decades of Torah study, and decades of Talmud study before they would even THINK of trying to study Kabbalah.
The Hebrew language is very unique. It is true that there may be "hidden" meanings within the texts. Unless you are fluent in Hebrew, have knowledge of Torah and Talmud, I wouldn't bother too much with Kabbalah.
Yes, there may be some "thoughts" that are interesting and may cause you to "think", but all in all, it is very deep, and most people are not and will never be on that level.
I'm sure others will answer here as well, but that is my brief answer for you.
I hope your day is a good one!

Kabbalah is a Jewish mystic cult; so instead of studying Torah in light of Kabbalah, study Torah in light of Tanakh and Brit Chadashah.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The Word became flesh. The law came by Moses, grace and truth by Jesus Christ. The law makes nothing perfect, the bringing in of a better hope, (Jesus payment for our breaking the law) (Jesus reward for keeping the law for us). Jesus (Y'shua) gives us the gift of
Eternal life. (the reward we could not earn)
Your welcome,
Tammy
