-He and Jackie Mason are among the small crowd of media people who have formal theological training.

-He was an Ordained Presbyterian Minister.

-He never served in the military and it is an urban legend that he had tatoos.

-He had an adopted brother who was black who went to tuskeegee flight institute.

-When Rogers car was stolen in 1990 they returned it to his driveway the day later when they realized whose it was.  Nothing was missing except his director's chair.

-Mr. Roger's Neighborhood is the longest running PBS show ever with 998 episodes going from Feb 19, 1968 to Aug 31, 2001.

-Mr. Rogers died at age 74 in 2003 from stomach cancer.

-When TV was invented he wanted to use it for good instead of evil.

-He was a musician who had a degree from Dartmouth and wrote all the music for his show.

-Thank God for Mr. Rogers!
Guess what else? On NC bookwatch, He was reported to have saved a
distraught couples marraige through phone counselling.
It has been a long time, but I remember watching Lee Marvin on the Johnnie Carson show, and for some reason I seem to remember Lee stating his admiration for Mr. Rogers.  I must have been mistaken as 'Scoops,' Snopes, (whatever, I forget) says that you are right, Chad.
I owe anyone who read my entry espousing a lie, my appology.  I fear I grew up in a world where 'news' usually had a tinge of truth to it.  Oh-well.
Mr. Roberts still helped many many children, I feel.
