Your inner man is equal but you have a different position in the body! You have mixed up right standing with calling...
No I didn't, because I said nothing about calling. Not all callings are equal in responsibilities or "stature". And, quite frankly, my calling to witness to everyone does not prevent me from sharing the gospel (being in spiritual authority over) an unbelieving man.
I wasn't offended as cw was, but she was right in what she said. I am not under the authority of all men, even in the church. But only to the men who have been called to authority over me (husband, pastor, etc). Even then, if they are off-base scripturally, I don't have to defer to thier view. (ie: Once my husband said it was only
man that was made in God's image, not woman. A bit of a debate ensued. *LOL*)
Y'shua was despised and rejected,
Jews as I have seen throughout my
study of world history have been treated as a
whole, the same.
Nowadays, you see t-shirts that say things like, "Jesus is my Homeboy"
or "The Lord's Gym". Or No Jesus, No Truth, Know Jesus, Know Truth.
Jesus is kinda popular, or a gimmick for some. A rallying point for diverse groups.
On the other hand, I don't think devout Jews (in an ethnic sense), as a whole want to represented by a "Hollywood" style gimmick. They want truth.
Jewish writers wrote most of the Old and New Testament. So this kinda narrows it down a little as to the message of JfJ.
It is safe to stick with the thread topic.
Shalom.
I think the mission of Jews for Jesus is great.
Thanks
Me too.

This ministry is specifically for the purpose of leading non-Messianic Jews to their Messiah. Hence, the differences.
Yes, not to the exclusion of those interested in evangelizing any/all lost.
This is evident in the newsletter. I didn't participate here because I have a "thing" against Nazi sympathizers, OR to promote any economically underpriveleged social group. I explained two posts ago
if you can present the gospel to an educated Jewish person in a manner that makes sense, you can probably present it to any one in like manner.
Okay, here that statement goes again that confuses me. IS Jesus REALLY God too?? Then when Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane, and He said, "Abba", was he just praying to himself? If Jesus was really God, then why does the scripture tell us that "He sent his only begotten son..." (John 3:16). Why wouldn't it just say "I came to earth as a baby?" When Jesus died on the cross, then wouldn't everything else have died along with him being that God is the creator of all?? We read scriptures telling us where Jesus says he sits at the right hand of the Father. Does this actually mean that he sits next to himself??
This whole God is Jesus and Jesus is God confuses the daylights out of me. Would God truly allow humanity to see him in human form? Even Abraham was not allowed to see God. His glory and holiness was too great. So....clarity, please. Yetzirah, I would really love to hear something from you on this. Because your last post here about the whole "mixing of toilets" really cracked me up! I'm still laughing...good point! LOL :-)

I don't think we would be honest if any of us said we can completely understand (or picture) the triune Godhead...but it is what scripture teaches.
You may want to try one of the Trinity threads to keep on that topic:
MANY HERE, PICK ONE
Jesus is also actually God. We are sons of God through Jesus, in his name. Someone else can probably give a better answer though
O.K. Jews where allready called sons of God before John the Baptist was born... (Bnei Elokim), so it was not a new term.
IF Jesus is God himself always has been debated and doubted in the Church since it's existance. Mainly the Roman Katholic Church did choose that, Eastern and Southern Churches not around the 4th century....
And than Uberduber:
It's a ''nice'' enlightenment thought that everybody should be equal and friends. But when did that ever? happen in history??? So maybe only in the beginning with Adam and Eve, or when the Messiah comes....
The idea that all Jews should not be different also created a lot of wars allready. And also from Jews for Jesus, all Jews should be Messianic, they are not complete allowed to be themselves, but should join all the DIFFERENT groups with DIFFERENT idea's of people who clame all to be Messianic. And than there is peace? If everybody is (allmost) equal? No I'm much more for friendship in diversity!!! Let Jews please be themselves.
I am not blaming Americans to be not the same as Eskimo's with their customs... the idea that everybody should act like 1 certain group??? Why do the protestants than think everybody should be like them? More in your term?: are Jews only in Christ standing in the same position for God?
Genesis3
Only I can say, HaShem said indeed himself that nobody was able to see him face to face... So or Jesus and/or Christians started to believe that Jesus was some kind of mirrored image, with the Holy Spirit even being more important... There are all kind of traditions within the Churches.
It easier to explain that everybody should spread some of Gods imaged deeds etc. be a reflexion or so. By that only Adam and Eve and Moses where shining rays of Light litterly, but only temporarely. For as far as I remember Jesus never had that expression on him... Proofs allready that Moses walked closes with The Almighty maybe....
Well succes.

Yetzriah,
The Roman Catholic church just followed Brit Chadashah in regards to who Jesus of Nazareth is (John 1-3).

It's found right in the scriptures, not only the NT, but OT as well. Go to any of the threads I already linked re: Trinity. Or look here:
Jews have the Shema; do Christians believe in three gods?
Goy of Yeshua,
So the Coptic, Eastern Orthodox Churches also believe in John 1-3 but came to another conclusion. If you want to claim that they don't follow John 1-3 blame them, or go argue with them... I don't remember what the Greek or Russian or Syrian Churches claimed. but there are also fague terms like the Godly nature of Christ etc.
It's not so my business why Christians still disagree on this points with eachother. I only said that it doesn't seem so shure, and partly politicall.

I'm sorry but the trinity is not so my cup of tea. I never completely understood the puzzle of terms the churches wanted to use for it. For me HaShem is One. Point and thanks.
