Full Version: Jews and Gentiles: No more

Hello all,

I have noticed that the website has clear distinction between Jew and Gentile. For example on the 'Contact us' form. This should not be the case. I hope I don't get ostracized for this seeing as I am only making a correction.

Here are some verses:

Galatians 3:26 "for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith."

Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

Galatians 5:6 "For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love"

Colossians 3:11 "Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcissed and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all."

Aren't these truths about our position in Christ something we should rejoice in?

Are you claiming that every Christian walks in the power of G-d? Not every Christian walks in sonship.

Rom 8:14 NIVbecause those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

I assume you are male this being the case and the fact that you take a literal meaning of the above verse raises a question? Are you gay? Is your wife or future wife a man or a woman for the above verse speaks that there is no male or female? This is not what it is teaching.

This above verse teaches us that wherever Jew or Greek, male or female salvation is only through Jesus Christ without additions.

A circumcised Jew who rejects the Author of Life does not have life! For it was always the circumcised heart that counts before G-d.To worship G-d in truth according to revealed knowledge we must worship by faith in Christs love on the cross.

Why dont you couple Colossians 3:11 with 1Co 9:20-23and the love walk becomes practical.

1Co 9:20-23 NIV To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law.(21)To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from Gods law but am under Christs law), so as to win those not having the law.(22)To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.(23)I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

1Ti 1:5 NIVThe goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

You will do well to hold on to what you believe but do not become an obstacle to the Jews who have not yet come to faith in Christ Jesus but rather support us in prayer and thanksgiving.

Actually, I also take it to mean that we are equal in God's sight. And that there are no longer divisions between us; ie: like in the earthly Temple. (Separations of heritage/culture/lineage and sex.)

No I am not claiming this, God is. Read Romans 8:1-17. If someone claims to be a Christian but does not have the holy spirit simply put, they are not a Christian. There is nothing that contends this. To acknowledge Jesus as Lord, one must have the Holy Spirit. As it is written:
"Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says "Jesus is accursed!" and no one can say "Jesus is Lord" except by the Holy Spirit."(1 Corinthians 12:3)

Sorry there, I should have explained. This means all who are in Christ have equal standing before God actually. We are all equally guilty, and all equally saved. There should be no favouritism Lone_ranger

It is pretty impossible to take that verse literally actually seeing as.. there clearly are males and females. I don't know where you are getting the idea that I think it supports homosexuality. God is clear on what he thinks of that.

All I am saying is you shouldn't encourage distinction between Jew or Gentile. I don't know if you guys realised this is the impression the site gives. I was actually going to send an email of encouragement but then it asked whether I was Jew or Gentile.

I think the mission of Jews for Jesus is great. I'm not being an obstacle, all I am doing is gently admonishing.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness," (2 Timothy 3:16)

Better is open rebuke than hidden love. (Proverbs 27:5)

In Christ,

Well well,

If there is no difference.
Than Jews for Jesus should change their name into Humans for Jesus or so...

If their is no difference between man and woman... Than we all could make mixed toilets, it's even cheaper.

Is there also no difference between Christians and Gentiles?
Or if we are all sons of God, what is so special about Jesus being son of God.

Or if there is no difference between Greek and Jew. Why did the Greek-Orthodox-Church and Greek state wanted to put back the name Jew in passports from Jewish-Greek citizens??

Your approach sounds nice but not realistic.

and no favorism??? did Jesus not loved John the most?

Well at least Christians often did let us know that we are Jewish, with all kind of 'funny' results... So I don't think all Churches agree on it eather.
So I prefer to stay Jewish instead of some blur of thoughts.
Thanks

Your inner man is equal but you have a different position in the body! You have mixed up right standing with calling...

1Co 7:18-20 KJVR Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.(19)Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.(20)Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

I got up to a page of text but decided not to argue for my bible tells me to argue over this is immaturity but you do as you please Ripley but I will never allow a woman to rule authoritatively over a male in my presence for it is unfitting to her calling, unscriptural and wrong. This is not how I see and interpret the outworking of the Holy Spirit in a woman's life.

1Co 11:13-16 KJVRJudge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?(14)Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?(15)But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.(16)But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

This ministry is specifically for the purpose of leading non-Messianic Jews to their Messiah. Hence, the differences.

If it were a ministry for single moms, it would be designed with that in mind. Or if it were for any other single group of people, it would be designed with those people in mind.

In other words, the people they are trying to reach are not part of the church. Understand?

Prowler, I've got to tell you that statement you made is highly offensive and unscriptural. A believing woman is subject to her husband according to scripture--she is not subject to ALL men. YOU are NOT Ripley's head nor do you have authority to call her down or any other woman in here down. If Ripley or I or Goy or Sheitl or Faith or Jans disagree with you about scripture that does NOT mean we do NOT have the Holy Spirit working in us to interpret scripture and you do because you are male. You are NOT superior because you are male. God help your wife IF you have one.

No one is disputing this. Equal doesn't mean the same. We have different gender roles, yet we are equal.

Jesus is also actually God. We are sons of God through Jesus, in his name. Someone else can probably give a better answer though Smile

If you're referring to "The disciple whom Jesus loved", are not all Christians the disciples whom Jesus loved? I can't find it saying that he loved John the most.
If you really fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, "You shall love your neighbour as yourself", you are doing well. But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. (James 1:22)
Jesus was sinless, so he couldn't have favoured John.
