The more abundantly I love, the less I be loved.

Anyone care to share their thoughts on this?

I am thinking when you become absolute in your belief in Christ, you are setting yourself up as a "type" of Moses, even to the "religious circles within the organized church." It is like you are saying to yourself, I know what is right! Even though I am not perfect at performing that which is right, I am still confident I know! You see, the sacrifice of Y'shua does not excuse us from trying to live and love like He did! When we fail to meet His righteous standard, it is like the devil would really come and wail on you for a while and accuse you of your attempt to tell others of the Saviour and what He expects.

The bright side of this is- He is the one who justifies. He is the author and finisher. He knows we are dust. He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. He came that we might have life, guilt free, and more abundantly than we had before we knew of his great great love for us.

Lord, help me to focus on you, not my efforts for you.

Cor517, Shalom.

I agree mostly with your thought, but dislike some of your verbiage.  What I know is right, came from Him.  I do not know all that is right, but only what I have learned, up to date.  My daily prayer includes my supplication to Messiah that He guide me in thought, word, and deed, that I might make progress to 'close the gap of ability.  The student cannot know more than the Perfect Master. I learned my first lesson in that philosophy from my karate instructors.  Every life experience I have experienced, or endured has taught me that when I learn one thing, I find many new things needing to be learned.  Eternity, plus seventy times seven eternities can pass, and I will still be a student to my God.  OK, eventually I will be a good, and smart student, but still a student, and ,,,,ahem,,,,,very (yeah that's good) happy to be student, and son of God, my Father.   There I go.  My chair does not like me bouncing in it, and singing praises.

I'm ranting, so I will close.  Satan, Jehovah Wittinesses, and Mormons, one and all, do not knock on my door no more.  Now I must be perfectly vigilant, lest they try to sneak in.

In Messiah, Shalom to one and all.  Arley  (I complained a bunch, now may I be happy a bunch, with my new spell-check system from Iespell)
Well my short thought is that sometimes people overactively love somebody... while they just walk in front of the other persons feet.
A stalker (let's say mr.Paul) also can say that he loves Natalie Portman... etc.   So that doesn't mean, that Natalie should love mr.Paul back, and if he stalks to much, she might hit him with her handbag... Than mr.Paul also can claim, that that the more he loves, the less he get's loved... and say to ms. Portman ''but it is written that I should love the Jews...''.

Well a lot of superreligious people think, that they are the ones that love the world the most. And that they are not understood etc. etc.
O.K. that's 1 explaination
maybe witnessing is also a form of Love and The more paul spoke about Jesus because he love people just like Jesus said us to love he face perseuction from others and receive less Love.

i witness to people because I  love them and do not want anyone to go to hell and sometimes when I witness to people they get mad at me.
hey cor517;

What's going on?
I wanted to share something with you about God loving us abundantly and 'we' loving God less in the midst of this abundant love.

Noah.  Noah told the people to believe, too.  no one listened only Noah's family responded.  four guys and four gals.  only!  out of the entire earth.

God showed abundant love!  Called many! only a few were chosen.  The animals even had to forsake their numbers to provide a remnant.

Noah believed the LORD; built the ark; was shut up in the ark for nearly two years.

Yet...what happened at the time they were grounded and set an alter and sacrificed to the LORD?   You know and I know.  Sin crept in again and infected the entire world all over again, by way of drunkeness, and folly!

God loved to abundance time and time again...knowing that their is only one payment for sin....death.  So God sent His Righteous Servant to die.   And still it is repeated that many are called, and few are chosen.

Do we honestly believe that we are going to Heaven when we die?  are we like Paul in 2Corin 12:1-7 (dare I post it?  yes! in the next frame, ok?)

He was shown the abundant LOVE of God, too.  yet his flesh would become conceited, and proud and boast foolishly of his great revelations!...(((loving God less, is the thing, here)))) So the LORD did not spare him the thorn in his flesh to ground him, and remind him that God's love is there! but he(Paul) did nothing to earn it...nothing.

the more abundantly we love...(as we imitate the creator)  The more we SHOULD be surrounded by others who are in desparate need of the Creator's love; and LACK the saving Holy Spirit indwelling them...(((SO, they love the Creator less))).

bye for now,
Kim
Hey cor517;

Here is that passage from Paul that describes how HE loves 'less' the more that God loved him abundantly;  God's abundance was to the point of giving super revelation and a glimpse of heaven, even!!!

2 Cr 12:1-7
This boasting is all so foolish, but let me go on. Let me tell about the visions and revelations I received from the Lord.
I was caught up into the third heaven fourteen years ago.
Whether my body was there or just my spirit, I don't know; only God knows.
But I do know that I was caught up into paradise and heard things so astounding that they cannot be told.
That experience is something worth boasting about, but I am not going to do it. I am going to boast only about my weaknesses.
I have plenty to boast about and would be no fool in doing it, because I would be telling the truth. But I won't do it. I don't want anyone to think more highly of me than what they can actually see in my life and my message, even though I have received wonderful revelations from God. But to keep me from getting puffed up, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from getting proud.

bye for now,
Kim
David got puffed up and nailed Goliath, maybe Paul would have responded that way were it not for what He had done to the church.

Sugarman;

You do not mention praying first or rejoicing before the LORD for his choosing you.  I don't know.  But no one is responsible for the harvest
except the Holy Spirit.

I take my bible to work and read during the slow times to make the time pass more productively.  I do not share with others, nor am I told I cannot read to myself..it is a trade off, I am a sell out so to speak!
but for PERCEPTION.

2Sam 6:14-16
And David danced before the LORD with all his might, wearing a priestly tunic. So David and all Israel brought up the Ark of the LORD with much shouting and blowing of trumpets.  But as the Ark of the LORD entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, she was filled with contempt for him.

2Sam 6:20,21
When David returned home to bless his family, Michal came out to meet him and said in disgust, "How glorious the king of Israel looked today! He exposed himself to the servant girls like any indecent person might do!"
David retorted to Michal, "I was dancing before the LORD, who chose me above your father and his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the LORD. So I am willing to act like a fool in order to show my joy in the LORD.

I have never had a conversation nor a conflict over the bible reading, but I have heard the buzz, the comments that are spoken out loud but not "to me"  like: "I want to get a bible, a pink one!"  and "what if you read the bible and you find out you are going to hell!?"

Perception that is mounting...may it bring a time of reaping.  That is all we should celebrate.  that we reap for the LORD what is the LORD's and all the rest will continue to fall to the wayside as the chaff!

rejoice sugarman! unto you a savior is born!

I also want to mention that the buzz 'game' that people play at work has been the opportunity for me to quote aloud: "I know whom I have believed!" and the 'ghost whispers' fade away without their sting!

bye for now,
kimberly
