Thanks for this! That was beautiful......that's the way to greet the day. We give You Praise!
Shalom Rip.

I have a question, on these two threads you just started.  I am intrigued that you would separate 'Messianic' praise, from 'Christian Rap' praise.  Don't we 'Praise' the same Messiah?  (The 'Rap' part also concerns me).

I do not understand your logic.  Help, please.

In Messiah, Shalom.  Arley
Very cool! I love Ted Pearce!
Navyblue Arley~

I separated them because of taste in music. I have other music here too...I love everything/every genre...but not all do, and I respect that.

What do you have against Rap? LOL No different than any other "modern music" that reaches the cultures they come from. If the words are edifying, Praise God! JMHO

First off:  Shalom Rip.

Thanks. I was hoping (praying) that you were not discriminating against us poor, wimpy, Christians,,, heh heh heh.

I have against Rap, only that I cannot Rap.  Much of Rap may well be good, but much is misused to the work or Satan, I fear.  Plus, my generation is the one that started Rock and Roll, in the fifties.  I see where that went, and worry about how far, and fast Rap will go.  When """music""" went to 'acid rock,' and 'hard metal,'  I moved to the Classics, and Classical, and have stayed there.

Too long winded, again.  Sorry.  I was just a bit concerned is all.

In Messiah, Shalom to you, and one and all.  Arley  (And I still wish we had a spell check available.  My fingers are really really stupid, when they start flying over the keyboard.)

I agree with that, and can be said of all genres too. But if the words are edifying, it blesses me. And if a genre with edifying words can reach someone that might otherwise never hear the gospel, THAT blesses me very much.

Handel's Messiah is fantastic from beginning to end. But I love "I'll Fly Away" just as much. My taste runs the gammut. LOL

Blessings.
Phil Keaggy's Roundabout is good for reminiscing, listening during an enjoyable task to make it more enjoyable, and to do some serious praising if you like. I must admit I think of David calming Saul's spirit with his harp when I think of Phil Keaggy's gifts that He so willingly shares with others.

Exclamation Cool

I understand, but there's a whole generation of kids (who don't know Jesus) that love those genres, and some FANTASTIC Christian bands that play that kind of music. I am an avid head-banger/heavy metal, alternative music lover. And I THANK GOD! that He has led Christian musicians in that genre.

I also understand not everyone loves it...cool with me.

But please, just remember that the "classics" can be just as sinful (from Sinatra to Elvis, or did you mean "classic 60's"? same/same) and "classical" too (think of all the sinful opera storylines). So, no genre is "more holy" than another. (I happen to love classics and classical too. And let's just throw in country also. LOL)
