Ok. Its a pretty small thing to say I love the Jews at this point - persecution is miles away - but I do AND recently, I felt so in love that I ripped my clothes. WAIT. I did not rip my clothes because I loved just the Jews.

I ripped my clothes because the media in Australia reported as headline news that our Prime Minister was six.... SIX... minutes late for something - as if that is news.

Well... this got me to thinking. In the fullness of time, it makes sense to rip your clothes, because you have time to mend them. But what makes sense in the end? In the end, if you rip your clothes you may not have time to mend them.

So, is it right to ripping your clothes? I am not so sure. For days now I have thought with love on two things: one, how much I love my Prime Minister and two, how much I love the Jews, especially their passion. But what does that have to do with ripping my clothes (my mother is complaining)?

PLS NOTE: It may not be ripping your clothes, but buttons missing on your pajamas is really annoying!
For such things Jews don't tear their clothes, not even for persecution... So I don't see the connection.
Besides that, they are not ripped appart in order to mend them...

So this looks more like a Messianic custom?

For the rest, Yes I don't like the custom that people should come on time... Well only for The Almighty I try to be on time, but do mistake that also. Lukely he gave us 10 days after new year to make it right...
Oh, so I am over-reacting.
No seems that you start to create your own custom...

I mean, I see Messianics also do sertain things with a Tallith or with Torah or in Praise, that Jews will not do out of respect, law or other things...
Than claiming that people are so Jewishly busy is an empty or weird claim sometimes...

It's not overseriously. I mean you are allowed to have your own custom. But to tear clothes because of this? Maybe people did it when the Temple fell or so once, but I doubt it. You only do it when close reletives die, or at their Yahrzeit...

Greetings.
