Did y'all see Obama on O'Reilly on Sept 4? I found something he said very interesting, and I'm wondering why nobody on FOX is talking about it. Obama says, about 1:14, that the problem with Bush (and by extension, Republicans) is that we cannot distinguish between Shia and Sunni. He suggests that Saddam Hussein (a Sunni) is different from Al Qaeda (more Sunnis), and that Iran (Shia) is different from both of them. All terrorist networks, but different ideology.

Really??

Aside from those Muslims who don't follow their Koran and hadiths, and therefore are really nominal Muslims, I see very little difference in their ideology vis-a-vis America.

Don't Shia and Sunni believe that dar al harb will one day submit? (We are dar al harb; a harbi is "one under a declaration of war," and there are only two real positions for nonbelievers: a dhimmi--defeated territory--or a harbi, assuming that you don't see death as a third option.) Don't Shia and Sunnis both say they want to destroy America and Israel? Didn't Saddam Hussein give money and help to terrorist groups? Aren't the "peaceful" Sunnis in Saudi Arabia trying to destroy the American economy, and don't they have a program to "evangelize" every American by the year 2013, building hundreds of mosques each year? Can you say "Obamanian spin" in the "No Spin Zone"? Or would you just call it "Obaminable ignorance"?

I love what Obama says in the last part of the interview, that he would give money to the Pakis with strings attached. Hmm. How is he going to make sure that they only spend the money on going after terrorists? Sounds to me like the Bush aid plan for Palestinians: money for weapons. Looks like Obama will give us "More of the same" in different packaging.

FOX has already commented on Obama's "the surge worked/the surged failed" remarks. Can't wait to see the rest of the interview. I think Bill Clinton has met his equivocatory match.

Todd,
You need to watch The O'Reilly Factor and FOX News more carefully. There has been implicit and explicit talk about the interview with Senator Obama.

I have seen lots of discussion on the surge, as I mentioned, but I haven't seen any one talking about what I wrote about. It's very possible that I missed something. But even going over the video links on Foxnews.com, I didn't see anything. If you do hear them talking about what I wrote about, let me know what show and day, okay? I'm curious how they will address it.
Frankly, I didn't watch it precisely because it was up against the RNC, which I watch on C-SPAN, so I get ALL the speeches with ZERO commentary or commercial breaks. Obama and his cronies are so afraid of the McCain/Palin ticket, they had to run this against McCain's night?

Also, I already FULLY know what Obama is about: Marxism.

Here's a great article series (Part I is at the bottom, then work up): The Audacity of Socialism

Not much there I didn't already know, but all of what I did know, detailed and outlined.

PLEASE READ AND PASS IT ON!

This will come to be a real watershed moment in American history, one way or the other. And I am not talking about 1st woman VP or 1st Black president; I am talking about something much more important: American way of life as we know, it or USSA.

Good Comrade:

You almost sound like you speak against Comrade Obama and the current Kremgless run by Comrade Pelosi. Where is your love for Mother Amerika? I fear that someone unknowing of your great love for the party may report you and that you will be sent to hard labor in Canada feeding spotted owls and spiking tall trees. Please reform your speech before the CNN hears of this and arrests you.

P.S.: I did watch Huckabee's speech on CSPAN. Very good stuff. Almost as good as Palin's.

How many times, for example, do they address Obama's Muslim upbringing? Also, the Sunni-Shia difference that Obama noted spoke for Obama, so why does Sean Hannity need to keep mentioning it? Most non-Muslims see Islam as Islam.

No offense, but the USA is kind of already the USSA. For example, the SSA, the Social Security administration; and when my great-granddad Anthony was filing for benefits, he committed suicide. I sadistically joked with my cousin if another family member who's dependent on the SSA would be next to committ suicide, and I know that that family member has tried to committ suicide before; so I wasn't trying to be mean, but great-granddad Anthony and she seem to come from similar backgrounds.
Fact or fiction: did Obama actually slip up with a "my Muslim faith" disclosure or is that just another twitchy, preelection hyperventilative squee?

I have in my home this Sunday's Chicago Tribune with all kinds of articles on Palin.  I suppose I should read them.  This rag used to be pro Republican.  Ehhhh, where have I been?

chow_woman, how about a squee smiley?

I had to look up "squee" first *L*

No offense taken. It has been the Democratic Party's forwarding of socialist policies since FDR. The "huddling masses" are buying into it and not understanding they pay for it with their freedom.

Anyway, as for Obama's Muslim "roots"... we need to leave it alone, people. If we harp on that, rather than his Marxist policies, we will be summarily dismissed as "religious right freaks"...and no more debate on ISSUES will occur.

He has told us enough of what he thinks, and intends to forward, to be debated on issues. Most Americans DO NOT relate to his socialist views. BUT, most American's also don't KNOW them....

I have been attempting to get the word out to my liberal friends....did anyone read that long series of articles I already linked? Curious.
