As the solemn day of Yom Kippur approaches, I so wish our Jewish friends could know the mercy, the forgiveness, the healing, the joy, the love , the LIFE found in Jesus.

Oh, my! I've heard - and sung - "Come to Jesus" many times, but those children just melted my heart. Beautiful words, beautiful presentation. Thank you for sharing, Becky!
The Lord has been pulling me apart to spend more time with Him in repentance and prayer. As things implode around us, I believe He is calling us to be a light in the darkness. I've heard so many people speak of how afraid they are with the economic crisis. This presents a wonderful opportunity to say, "Let me tell you about my Jesus."
Below is a link to a song that has helped me stay focused on Him in the midst of the madness. "When the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will soar with You above the storm. Father, You are King over the flood, I will be still and know You are God."

Anne,
I know, the girls were so sweet.
"And with your final heartbeat,
Kiss the world goodbye,
Then go in peace, and laugh on glory's side" ... touches me every time.
I appreciate Hillsong's "Still" too. My oldest son's fiancee spent a semester in Australia, and used to take both a train and a bus (if I remember correctly) to get from Sydney out to the Hillsong church. She loved everything about it, especially the music.
I like what you said about being a light in these troubled times - - we've been talking with all the kids, and reassuring them and each other that no matter what befalls any of us financially, God is on the Throne. All is in His control; even if the world crumbles around us, we know that He has allowed it in His bigger plan, and like Job we can still proclaim:
"I know that my Redeemer lives." (Job 19:25)
and trust in Him, who told us:
"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows." (Matt. 10: 29-31)
Hallelujah, what a great God we serve!
Love and Blessings!
Becky

Are you longing to see revival in this dark world? So is God. And so is Robin Mark. Below is the link to the song, followed by the words if you'd like to sing along:

Revival, by Robin Mark
From the CD "Revival in Belfast"
Verse 1: As sure as gold is precious and the honey sweet
So You love this city and You love these streets
Every child out playing by their own front door
Every baby layin' on the bedroom floor
Every dreamer dreamin' in their dead-end job
Every driver drivin' through the rush hour mob
I feel it in my spirit feel it in my bones
You're going to send revival bring them all back home
Chorus: I can hear that thunder in the distance
It's like a train on the edge of the town
I can feel the brooding of Your Spirit
Lay your burdens down, lay your burdens down
Verse 2: From the preacher preaching when the well is dry
To the lost soul reachin' for a higher high
From the young man working through his hopes and fears
To the widow walkin' through the veil of tears
Every man and woman every old and young
Every father's daughter every mother's son
I feel it in my spirit feel it in my bones
You're going to send revival bring them all back home (Repeat Chorus)
Bridge: Revive us, revive us, revive us with Your fire

Amen, Anne!
And as a human body which is being resuscitated needs to have the heart revived .... so may our spiritual hearts be revived!
"Create in me a clean heart, O God;
and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy presence;
and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;
and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors thy ways;
and sinners shall be converted unto thee." (from Ps. 51)

What I read in the N.T. the Lord Y'shua said,
Makes more sense than anything,
I have yet heard from the mouth of
anyone, or read elsewhere.
My Spirit agrees with what the Lord
Y'shua says, and when I put His teachings into practice
and believe in my heart what he says
the spirit bears witness with my spirit,
that I am His, and my need to trust in man's
interpretation of God is of no consequence.

Thanks for reviving this thread, Anne, and for your contributions! Very powerful.
I haven't been around much, but I see there's been lots of discussion about the celebration of Christmas on the forum.
Personally, I love Christmas.
To contemplate the way God reached down into our sphere of existence to lift us up through Jesus Christ never ceases to fill me with awe and wonder and thanks.
What Child is This? He is Jesus, "who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Phillipians 2:6-11)
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)
What Child is This?

Blessings to all! ♥
