Before the Throne of God Above
Before the throne of God above
I have a strong, a perfect plea:
A great High Priest, whose name is Love,
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on his hands,
My name is written on his heart;
I know that while in heaven he stands
No tongue can tell me to depart
No tongue can tell me to depart.
When Satan tempts me to despair,
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look, and see him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died,
My sinful soul is counted free;
For God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me
Behold him there, the risen Lamb
My perfect, spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
The King of glory and of grace!
One with himself, I cannot die
My soul is purchased by his blood
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ, my Savior and my God
With Christ, my Savior and my God
Beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing. I know this song! I read the lyrics and didn't think I did, but then I started singing along and realized I knew it.
I needed that today! In the middle of a huge project, big deadline, and I forgot my usual "psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs." Now I am ready to tackle that project in earnest. And I'm SOOO glad I work out of my home. I was singing at the top of my lungs. He is worthy of all praise!

These (reasons) * may be controversial,
nevertheless I will list them.
I deserve to die- I am still alive.
I sin against the Lord- I know he forgives with open arms.
I take what Y'shua said as the truth.
He has never left me or forsaken me.
He tells me, It is never too late to trust Him and do what is right.
I know I create my own problems- no one else.
There is grace and He tells me to come to him that I may recieve it.
He said to Thomas "The way ye know". "I am the way the truth and the life and no man cometh unto the Father but by me."
He said to Phillip, "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father."
I can feel His presence and He gives me comfort in spite of my circumstance.
He is the author of all that is good, the giver of every perfect gift and the one who cares most for me.
My life has changed for the better since He found me.
"Because the sinless Savior died,
My sinful soul is counted free;
For God, the Just, is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me"
I don't want to ruin your joy, but call you into a deeper joy. This verse above is doctrinally incorrect. I am ruining the rhyme and rhythm but it should state:
Because the sinless Savior died,
My soul that died with Him is now sinless;
Thus, God, the Just, has satisfied His Law (in putting me to death)
And can look on me as I am (resurrected in Christ) and pardon sins done in the flesh, because it is no longer I that do them.
Prowler,
What a haunting melody - lovely imagery and lyrics... "Come up here. Come up here". "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty" "Amen, amen, hallelujah."
