I just copied the following from Karaite Korner, about the New Moon:
New Moon Not Sighted
On Tuesday September 30, 2008 the new moon was not sighted by
observers from Israel. With the time between sunset and moonset only
20 minutes this was exactly as expected. As a result, Yom Teruah will
begin Wednesday night, Oct 1, which is the 31st day from the previous
sighting. This is because a lunar month can only be 29 or 30 days long
and the non-sighting tonight made the Sixth biblical month 30 days.

Here is what I, and you I hope, were looking for, the New moon for month seven is sighted. Happy Yom Teruah, and Happy New Year, to one and all.

Day one is about over, already. Tomorrow is the second half of the same day.

Ooooooo-Kaaaaaaay. I do not need outside help to tell me that my guess, of this year being an excellent Yom Teruah to have a Snatching-away, was not the one. I am still here, and your are still here (I hope).
Guess you all are stuck with me and my weirdness yet for a while. Ha!

Are you kidding? Who better than you to spend the year with waiting for Isaiah 17 to get fulfilled?
Thank you, God, for not taking us this year! Help us bring in the catch and pick the fields in Your Name. You gave us a talent. Help us to give it back to You tenfold. Amen?

Arley and Todd, please stop fighting. I agree that the acharithayamim are in our time and that we should be preaching the Tanakh and Brit Chadashah, but let's agree to disagree on when exactly Yom Teruah is.
