I don't know what it had to do with any dates, or figuring of dates. It was a PROPHECY from whomever in JW. When it did not come to pass, they maintained it DID COME TO PASS, BUT INVISIBLY. A false prophet exposed, came up with an excuse.

That was my point.

You did the same thing, Ray: "Here's the DATE!"....well, "it depends [on Israel]"....well, it could have happened "invisibly".

I know very little about Jehovah Witness or their sources.
From outward observation I would say they used a secular calendar.
Do they accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior?
Are they Baptized in the Holy Ghost, filled with the love and power of Jesus?
Remember, it is Christ IN YOU the hope of glory!!

As you know, the 1st Temple was built by Solomon in his 4th year.
AM 3148 (BC 904) - AM 3168 (BC 884), it took 20 years to complete.
This Temple was burned in AM 3578 (BC 474), by Nebuchadnezzar.
It was 50 years later, AM 3628 (BC 424), in the 2nd year of Cyrus,
that the foundation of the 2nd Temple was laid. It took 20 years to
complete too, AM 3648 (BC 404). This was the end of the "70 year
Captivity" in the 6th year of Darius.

But in 1975 the end did not come ,so they say the end would come if the time between the coming of Adam and Eve has been expired and this could well be 1985,again nothing did happen ,
Then they came with a generation is 70 year (the bible says 70 years for a man 80 years for the strong). If 1914 is the year we start counting you  come to 1985,(they do not look to a half year more )
Manny JW are having a hard time to see any truth in this now.
It is all a lie and I wish I would have understood the words of Yeshua better because he warned us in Marc 13:22 and Math 24:43-44 before .

To me this is the symbol of those who will feed the honored wedding guest ?

My understanding is that they "prophesied/figured out mathematically" thas Jesus would return VISIBLY, as we all understand it, in 1914. BUT....when that did not happen, rather than recognize the error, they claimed INVISIBILITY.

Ray did the same thing.

It wasn't AD 1914, BUT the 3rd Millennium beginning in AD 1896.
This was the year Theodor Hertzl published his book (or pamphlet)
on Zionism, "Der Judenstaat;" The Jewish State.
