Uhh...maybe it's a good thing your getting expelled.

Whatever you do,ÊÊdont snore in church. It's more clear cut in your favor if it is necessary commerce.ÊÊ It'sÊÊmore clear cut against you if you are a workaholic 7 days a week with no time to get to church, setting no time aside. How do you get to church if you work till 7am Sunday morning you poor person.
It's not all that simple and I can see how a church in good concience might take a variety of positions on this. How do you handle the Sabbath,ÊÊafter all Jesus fulfilled the Sabbath in a senseÊÊand Sunday is not the Sabbath but the Lord's day. So what do you do?
Even pastors and church worked are pretty stressed at times on Sunday and take a different day ofthe week off, so usually there is some flexability.
Almost everyone would make exceptions for necessary commerce...ÊÊwhich would be like working in a hospital, to an extent providing services for travelers as in a hotel, providing food for travelers,ÊÊ and necessary emergenciesÊÊthat could not be put off. Farmers may have special care for animals.ÊÊMany would add doing acts of mercy, visiting shutins and the sick and helping people.ÊÊOn the other hand,ÊÊwhen it comes to lawn work and gardening and sports, some would argue they are recreational and allright.ÊÊ Eric Liddel in Chariots of fire was from a Scottish tradition where sports on Sunday were not all right and he in good concience could not run on Sunday.
I am more confortable leaving it as an issue of concience, but I can see groups in good concience doing a variety of things.ÊÊI see it more in the grey than clear cut what to do.

Sunday is not the Sabbath and the day the Lord made for us to rest. As a matter a fact Jesus/Yeshua rose on the Sabbath (Sat)As he says just like Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights, so must the son be in the heart of the earth. From good friday to Easter sunday moroning does not make up three days and three nights. I rather go by the timeing of the Lord then of Men.

You correct in stating that Sunday is not the Sabbath. Jesus is the Sabbath rest for all believers. Christians set aside a day for worship (it can by any day) but we are not commanded to cease all work on any day of the week.
Jesus rose on Easter SUNDAY morning. The context of his prophesy must be considered. The context was in Jewish culture. Jewish culture consideres part of a day to be a full day. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are full days, even though He was only in the tomb for part of two of the days.
To give an analogy. If you have three glasses of water and two are filled and one is half full, you would be correct in describing them as three glasses of water.
If you do go to church on Sunday, remember that Sunday is a weekly commemoration of Easter Sunday. I think that Easter Sunday is the greatest day in history, because it proved Jesus to be genuine. He was buried and raised himself up on the third day.
Praise God!

Shalom, peppertree5706 and thank you for responding, let's us exmaine the TimeLine of Yahshua's Crucifixion and Resurrection by the final authority the Word of God. Consider these veres
Matthew 12:38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Rabbi, we would see a sign from thee.
Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
The claim of Yahshua's messiahship rest on the fulfillment of His words!
Jonah 1:17 Now Yahweh had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
We can clearly see here that Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights. There is no reason to believe that these days and nights were fractional or that Yahshua meant only two nights and one day when He described how long He would be in the grave. A rationalization of this type would undermine the integrity of Yahshua's words.
The precise fulfillment of Jonah's sign of three days and three nights which Yahshua clearly gave as verification of His authenticity and messiahship did happen! Please consider the following timeline for your studies.
Tuesday: Yahshua Messiah ate an evening Passover meal with His disciples at the beginning of Nisan 14 and instituted the New Covenant symbols. Yahshua was then betrayed by Judas, arrested and during the night brought before the high priest.
Luke 22:8 And he sent Kepha and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
Luke 22:13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
Luke 22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
Wednesday: Yahshua was crucified and died around 3 p.m. This was the preparation day for the annual Shabbat which began at sunset. This was not the weekly Shabbat! Yahshua's body was placed in the tomb (grave) at twilight.
Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Yahshua cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My Elohim, my Elohim, why hast thou forsaken me?
Matthew 27:50 Yahshua , when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the Spirit.
Mark 15:42 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,
Luke 23:54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on.
John 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the stake on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
Matthew 27:57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Yahshua ' disciple: Matthew 27:58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Yahshua. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
Matthew 27:59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
Matthew 27:60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
Thursday: This was the high-day Shabbat, the first day of Unleavened Bread. It is described as the day after the Day of Preparation.
John 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the stake on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
John 19:42 There laid they Yahshua therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.
Leviticus 23:4 These are the feasts of Yahweh, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
Leviticus 23:5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is Yahweh 's passover.
Leviticus23:6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto Yahweh: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.
Leviticus 23:7 In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
Matthew 27:62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
Friday: The high-day Shabbat had now passed. Women now bought and prepared spices for anointing Yahshua's body before resting on the weekly Shabbat day. The weekly Shabbat began at sunset.
Mark 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
Luke 23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
Saturday: According to the Fourth Commandment, the women rested on the weekly Shabbat. Yahshua rose from the tomb (grave) just before sunset. It had been exactly three days and three nights (72 hours) after burial. This fulfilled the sign of Jonah and doing so, authenticating Yahshua's messiahship!
Luke 23:56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.
Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exodus 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yahweh thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exodus 20:11 For in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yahweh blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Sunday: Early in the morning, while it was still dark, the women brought the prepared spices. Yahshua had already risen! He did not rise on Sunday morning, but had already risen, just prior to sunset, the day before. That day was the Shabbat.
Luke 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
John 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
Matthew 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
Matthew 28:2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of Yahweh descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
Matthew 28:3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
Matthew 28:4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
Matthew 28:5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Yahshua, which was crucified.
Matthew 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where Yahshua lay.
Mark 16:2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
Mark 16:3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
Mark 16:4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
Mark 16:5 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
Mark 16:6 And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Yahshua of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
Luke 24:2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
Luke 24:3 And they entered in, and found not the body of Yahshua.
John 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
Yahshua did not rise Sunday at sunrise, but rose late Saturday afternoon around the Shabbat sunset. He had already risen hours before the women came to His tomb! This was the precise fulfillment of Jonah's sign of three days and three nights, which Yahshua said was verification of His messiahship. He was placed in the tomb just before sunset on Wednesday and rose just before sunset Saturday.
I hope this helps you in your search of the Scriptures and may Yahweh bless you in your continued search for the Truth of His Word. HalleluYah!!

We know from Scripture that Jesus was buried on the day of preparation for the Sabbath. That is late Friday but prior to sunset.
Once He was placed in the tomb, we have no way to know how long he remained. I would think that He stayed there at least until the conclusion of the Sabbath, as a sort of Sabbath rest.
I also believe that while His body was in the tomb, He appeared to those souls in prison (Hell) to proclaim the victory.
He did not appear in His resurrected body until Sunday morning.
I can not think of any more to say about this.

he question constantly arises: If the Lord was really crucified on Friday and rose again on Sunday, how could that have encompassed three days and three nights? The Gospel accounts indicate that the Lord was crucified on Friday at 9:00 a.m. and taken off the cross at 3:00 p.m. His body was prepared for burial and interred at sundown the same day, which was the beginning of the Festival of Unleavened Bread. The Lord then arose on Sunday morning after sunup. According to the modern way of counting, this spans barely two days. Yet that time period seems to disagree with Jesus’ earlier prediction: “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth” (Matt. 12:40).
The prophecy can be understood when we examine the Jewish way of counting days and nights. We must recall that the Jewish day always starts at sunset, so that Friday really begins on Thursday evening (a fact that is reflected in the language of Genesis – “the evening and the morning” are the first day). The second day then begins at sundown on Friday and continues through the daytime on Saturday. Finally, Sunday begins at sundown on Saturday and stretches through Saturday night and the daylight hours of Sunday, making the third day. And since the Jews counted any portion of daylight as a full day, then Friday morning through Sunday morning would have been seen as three complete days.
People have sometimes struggled to move Passover (the “Last Supper”) back one day in order to get three days and three nights the way we would count them in the Western world, but that would be inaccurate. Even in the Western world we begin each day on the night before at midnight, so the concept is not strange to us. And supporting this understanding of the Lord’s crucifixion on a Friday (against those who claim it happened on a different day) is the centuries-long history of Christians celebrating Good Friday, not “Good Thursday” or “Good Wednesday.” So this is one more evidence that we can trust in the accuracy of the Biblical account, as well as further confirmation that knowledge of the Jewish roots of Christianity can open up a deeper understanding of God’s Word.
