How do you know that McCain will stay with Israel????
What did he say about it? Can he keep those Promisses?
Does Israel have more rights to say anything under McCain, than under the Bush Administration?
If McCain is in power he also will be ''treated'' by Halliburton and other Oil companies, plus IMF, CIA who will tell him the policies I guess? So that might be the same under Obama. So what difference does it make you think?
(for I am not an American, I might not know what the basic talks are between OBAMA and McCain about Israel).
In the near future the U.S.A. might be more dependable on international Law, to stay a superpower, so they have to bind in. Can McCain do it better in international relations you think? Why?

Actually, many of us feel that to remain a "superpower" we should be LESS under international Law, not more. In fact, many of us want the USA out of the UN all together. Me included. (The UN only wants our money, we pay for over 50% of it's costs. Then undermines us. Sorry, but yes, I care about America's interests, not Russia's, or Cuba's, or Venezuela's. We should quit the UN, kick them out of the USA, and maintain the NATO alliances, democracies only. That's my opinion.)
But as to Israel and Obama (I already posted this in another thread):
Barack Obama’s Anti-Israel Alliances
Quote:
Barack Obama claims to be a supporter of Israel and a friend of the Jewish people. But many of the people who helped him in the course of his rise to political power, or whom he helped during his political ascent, are extremely anti-Israel, or even outright anti-Semitic. Let's examine the views and careers of just a few of Obama's anti-Israel and/or anti-Semitic benefactors and protégés:
Long, but thorough.
I think McCain understands the need for democracy and sovereignty of nations, and standing by our allies, better than Obama. That includes including Israel. There is real anti-Semitism running in America toward our support of Israel.
Jesse jackson just said a couple weeks ago that "Zionists run our foreign policy." and he claimed "that would change under an Obama presidency." (paraphrase) He said this while in France, I think, but Europe, for sure. (Obama distanced himself from that statement quickly...he doesn't want to lose the predominantly Democrat Jewish vote.)
There's a reason Democrat Joe Lieberman endorses McCain: Israel. Period.

I'm not so sure this type of thread is appropriate, but the mods
let it through, so what do I know.
And yes, I am a McCain supporter.

Now the real patriot is comming out? Caring only for U.S.A. (and allies) but not for Christians in Cuba or Venezuela it seems?
that is what state vs. religion means?
I doubt that America is paying 50%. Maybe on paper, but America is famous for not paying their part...
Anyway if the U.N. weakens, regional conflicts will rise, like before WW-II nations got out of the League of Nations. Not that I disagree, but still the U.N. stabelizes somewhat.
Well the U.N. doesn't say a lot about the illegal war in Irak, in wich the U.N. didn't agree upon. So the system was anyway fading away, with the U.S.A in Georgia and China in Darfur.
And the U.S.A demanding Israel not to trade with China and India at certain levels... Yes the weakest point for the U.S. is their believe in a simple black and white world, the good guys against the bad. But who are the bad?
Anyway, I'm happy the west is winning for now. And McCain might be a better choice, but also a more simplistic American again. But I think he's more clever personally than Bush.
Joe Lieberman I saw about a year ago in Shul here, but didn't speak with him, I 'm not so interested in politics, and he not so much in me I guess.... :-)

Supporting their oppressors is not loving/caring in my way of thinking.

UN funding: scroll down to "Funding"
This does not take into account the large contribution that the USA makes in UN actions. Our personnel (most important, greatest sacrifice: sons and daughters), our machinery, and our money to pay for both.
It also does not take into account monies paid privately to NGOs (Non-Governmental Orgs, like UNICEF, etc) that contribute to UN goals.
Nor does it take into account formal direct payments from our govt. to others; ie: direct humanitarian aid.
Not to mention the many other charities that Americans individually give to WILLINGLY. From disaster relief to ongoing support of families around the world.
Am I patriotic? Yes. (Is the USA PERFECT? No.)
Does that mean that I think other country's citizens shouldn't be patriotic? No.

I started this thread because I love Israel and because Israel is surrounded by Muslim nations that have sworn to drive the Jews into the sea. So I have to ask one question, what red blooded Jew would vote for a Muslim president that would turn his back on Israel?

Thanks, well I hear different commentaries from Jews in Jerusalem. So it sounds a little bit biased...
Video 1.: Well we also believe that Jews without Jesus are saved. And Islam is in a lot of things much closer than Christianity. Arab has here another title then Gentile
Video 2 is more about Hamas Supporting Obama, not the other way around...
I sometimes also have contacts with Palestinians so what is the point? Obama doesn't say he supports him.
But o.k. the financial relationship is to look into. But that is the same with some Christian groups, so I do not see so much difference.
But o.k. if I might look deeper into it I might go for McCain. But for me as European the 2 party system where the U.S.A came up with is allready hard to understand. Hardly any choice, not much democratic.
If the word ''democracy'' is not even in the bill of rights, nor in the constitution as far as I heard, maybe Europe should overthrough the American government, to enforce democracy
just kidding...

It actually would've been better for Senator Obama to be a Muslim, ignorant of Tanakh and Brit Chadashah, then a Black Liberation theologian.
