Rev320 is very near the area that is being evacuated, if he hasn't been evacuated already...I don't know exactly where he lives...but "right there" in the vicinity. I am/we are close enough to smell the smoke, but not in ANY DANGER of it reaching me/us.
So, not only in the interest of praying in general for the safety of residents and firefighters, and quick containment of these fires...but ESPECIALLY FOR OUR FORUM BROTHER AND HIS FAMILY, AND ALL HIS CHURCH FELLOWSHIP!!
FIRE NEWS STORIES
The same week in the days following the stance of Sacramento, San Francisco, and the liberal judges pushed a homosexual agenda on California, 700 dry lightning strikes created a massive series of North California fires...the goprit smell of Sodom into the nostrils of all over there.
In Southern California, in the same week, days following the massive homosexual marches and the movie star proclamations "our hearts are with you"...the homes of the movie stars burn down, and LA smells the goprit.
Will the homosexuals do us all a favor and shut up? What's next to California because of them? A 10.0 earthquake? Feel like stomping on another old lady's paper cross? Maybe we'll get lucky and have West Hollywood turn into a Korahite sink-hole with those turkeys going down in it for Thanksgiving. Then those in mourning can cry out..."gooble, gooble, gooble."
Good grief!
You are so right Brianroy, but, the rain falls on the righteous as well as the wicked.
Even with their massive campaign to pass Prop 8, it failed. (Largely due to Obama's 'get out the vote': 7/10 black voters voted for Prop 8. The irony there is that he promised to pass something with congress to undo not only all abortion restriction laws that states have already passed, I think he will also pass one that allows gay marriage as well.)
In this area it was the Mormon church that organized the largest "street rallies" (one, in my city, had about 800 people at it and it stretched for a few miles along a very busy boulevard for a few hours). They weren't all mormons, but it was them that were diligent in doing the rallies and getting others involved.
Which brings me to ask what I have asked many times in the past about our political situation and lean toward lawlessness and amorality as a society: where's the church?
Brian, Just wanted to say thanks for using the word "goprit." I had never heard that before and had to look it up. It was worth it.
Here's an article if anyone else is interested.

Except that the areas hardest hit by the fire were also the areas that voted strongly for Prop 8.
Map of voting on Prop 8
The devastating fires are in Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Bernardino County, and Ventura County, all areas that voted for prop 8. The fire in Montecito--in Santa Barbara County where Oprah "lives"--failed to damage the gay community or the largest supporters of the gay community there.
If this is a judgment against homosexuals, why are those who fought so hard for prop 8 being punished and those who are vandalizing churches, interrupting church services, and physically harming Christians, Mormons, and Catholics coming away unscathed?
We had to take our Prop 8 stickers off our cars for fear of retaliation, yet our communities got the fire worse. My student Josh who became a Christian almost lost his home in the Triangle Complex Fire. It burned his backyard, but not his house, fortunately. I live just two blocks outside the evacuation zone, but we had to watch for embers last night just the same because of the Santa Anas and the fact that we have a dry grass hill directly opposite our house. This was not a judgment against homosexuals. What do conservative Republican areas like Anaheim Hills, Brea, Chino Hills, and Diamond Bar have to do with West Hollywood?
This fire is what we get when we rely on the government to "manage" our wild areas, and they refuse to do basic maintenance to protect the surrounding communities. It's not theological. It's simply logical. Excessive dry brush and overgrown trees in public lands will eventually burn out of control. What you didn't hear on the news is that California refused to bring on needed equipment and firefighters, like my friend Charles who kept calling in and being told to stay home, because we are broke from paying the government to analyze its own navel. Had we decided not to keep the firefighters home, it might not have taken half an hour for the first firefighter to show up to the Cascade Apartments in Anaheim Hills, where over 120 people lost their "homes". But get used to it. This is what our country just voted in, and we will all get burned.
Even with their massive campaign to pass Prop 8, it failed.
This should have read "Even though they mounted a massive campaign to STOP PASSAGE OF Prop 8,
they failed."

Rev...so glad to hear from you...and relieved that your home was spared.
Praise God.
The Baptist men went to Mississippi for disaster relief.
We didn't try- literally or symbolically or allegorically to even determine who was deserving of prayer OR remodeling.
This was a flood. Some say voodo or witchcraft played a part in the destruction. Thank God while we were working, I did not have those kinds of thoughts interefereing with my labors. The earth will never again be flooded in the manner as, of Noah's flood.
So, I am saying, Pray for the remainder of the flood victims who are not yet re-settled, and the fire victims who now have given their lives into God's care through Christ, and those who have not.
Now, pray for the peace of those who want peace in California.
(Hope there are no "Looters")
I wonder if homosexuals set brush fires in Republican areas?
